Hi everyone.
We just found out my husband has CNS lymphoma.
It's been a really hard time the last few weeks and we have a long road ahead.
We have a large group of supportive friends and loving family surrounding us, but your prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Hugs and lots of positive energy coming your way.....just stay strong and do the best you can..

Sue, I mentioned this thread to Judi (Snoopy), knowing you two went way back together here, and her not being able to visit. She asked me to "....extend my good wishes on that thread, Dan? I hate to hear stuff like this about old friends from the DIS...makes me feel so helpless. What a shame. I know they have a DD not much older than Luke. I'll pray he will be o.k."

Thanks everyone.
Dan, I haven't posted this anywhere else on the internet yet, but tell Snoopy I said thanks.
You both are sweet and caring people.

He was admitted to the cancer hospital a few days ago and is undergoing a battery of tests before his first chemo treatment.

I haven't had the easiest life, but this is by far the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. He is only 47.
I'm spending 14 hours a day by his side, so not much time for the internet.
Abby, our 13 year old daughter is hanging in there. She has a very close group of friends who are supporting her as well as all the family.
It's my three adult kids I am more worried about. They aren't handling it too well. Bob is their step dad and while they love him very much, they have a lot of unresolved childhood issues with him. We are all going to counseling the hospital offers.

We are truly taking things one day at a time here, probably for the first time in our lives.

Thanks for your concern, it is appreicated.

As a caregiver myself, I know the toll on us can be very difficult. I am sorry that you are going through this as well as your husband facing this cancer. Please know this hospitals et al are very quick to put things on the family that are sometimes difficult to do..I am talking medical things that normally we would not do but because it is cost effective and insurance tells them to push more on the family and have them do less so ins does not have to pay as much.......if that happens with you and you are not comfortable, speak up. I have in the past, I am not a nurse or a doctor and have not been trained to flush out ports etc....so I stand my ground and say I am not going to do that.. I do not feel comfortable doing that. I may have to take him back to the hospital to do that, but I would rather that than make a mistake that could affect my husband's health..

This is on my mind this morning as we had a discussion about this yesterday with the doctor. Also, they can make arrangements for visiting nurses to come and help you... you just have to know about all this as they are not going to offer it. This is for when he is at home..

Anyway, know this, there are many of us going through what you are right now.. facing chemo with a loved one can be difficult on all. Take time for yourself.....when you can, get someone to sit with him and get away even if it is for a cup of coffee down the road.. just to clear your head..

We are here for you.

my father died of Lymphoma brain tumor in 2003. This October 12 will be 5 years and I miss him ever day1
