Where?
I'm not sure which company is reputable. My insurance company who I've had since 1983 decided to drop us because we have a diving board (we've had it for the last 15 years, with no claims)..
My local agency who I use for homowners and to insure our 4 vehicles doesn't have the best prices and I've asked them twice to look into new companies for me they haven't called back yet and it's been since last year. So I thought I could get a better price online myself.
Any help would be appreciated!

If you get a quote on line, find out the rating of the insurance company. It should be rated A by BEST, an insurance industry rating.

If your agent hasn't gotten back to you, find another Independent Agent and get quotes from them. Each agency can have different companies. I would also try the direct writers such as Allstate or State Farm.

As for the diving board, I work in an insurance agency and we had the same thing happen on Friday to a client. The annual premium on their policy is around $9,000. for car and home, but, since they have a diving board (no claims) the company is cancelling them.

I think I would give Geico a try. We don't have them, we use Country Mutual, but I am not sure if they are out by you. We were rear-ended last June and they crazy woman who hit us had Geico. They were great to deal with, they called, admitted liability and I had a check in my hand for repairs within a week or so of the accident. Inside a month, my van was fixed and we were happy. FWIW, my adjuster seemed to think fairly well of them also. Good luck, I know I have read that many, many insurance companies are balking at providing coverage for diving boards, it might just be easier to remove it. HTH

We took our diving board off 4 years ago after a neighbor girl dove and hit her nose on the pool bottom. They never filed a claim, but I had the board off within few days. Good luck on the search. A lot of companies will not write a policy if there is a diving board, trampoline, wood stove or even some breeds of dogs.::MickeyMo

As side note here. A lot of the pool retailers around here will not install a diving board anymore. Some will sell you one, but you have to install it yourself.

We have Geico for auto insurance and State Farm for home. We have just been lazy to see what Geico would charge us for home owners insurance. Geico was and has been excellent during a car accident we had. Within an hour they were at our house to take us to the car rental which had to be extended due to availability of parts and a check was written to the place our car was towed to (our choice of places) within 3 hours. That auto body shop told us he was not surprised as he prefers dealing with Geico.
State Farm has been good for us when some damage was done to our home due to mother nature.

I heard some insurance carriers will cancel you for having a trampoline.

I have Geico for car and homeowners. They tried to NON RENEW me for haveing 2 claims in 3 years. In AZ, its perfectly OK for them to cancel (NON RENEW) you if you have 2 claims. No matter the amount. Wether they will insure you with a diving board, I don't know. We did have a pool, but only 5 feet at the deep end, so no diving well or board.

What about removing the diving board and installing a slide?

We don't have a pool however, we've had our fair share of crap with State Farm. We had two claims in the last 6 years with SF, both were weather related. Our house was struck by lightning, and several years later, we had about $2000 in wind damage, from a storm that had 90mph winds. At our renewal this year, they only would renew us if our deductible went up to 1% of the value of our house. We switched to Geico (which actually is underwritten by Traveller's.) We've had car insurance with Geico for about 17 or so years.

Only problem is that you live in MA.. right?? There are very few companies that underwrite in MA.... I am a NY insurance agent.. and my friend bought a condo on the cape.. and it took me several weeks to get her insurance.... not too many people write up there!! So... I would suggest going online to find an independent agent and deal directly with them....

Good luck!!

Wow, I work for an insurance agency in New Orleans and trying to get h.o. ins. down here is ridiculous. We've had clients who qualified for $500,000 houses but could not get insurance because of their CLUE report. That's a credit report used by the ins. industry. The only place to go is with the FAIR plan, which has to insure you. But can we say HIGH premiums! Good luck on your search.

Slides can be just as bad, if not worse. When we had our pool put in 6 years ago, they put in a diving board but refused to put up a slide.

I have a home daycare and a pool w/diving board and my home owners of 22 years cancelled us.....even though I do carry separate daycare insurance. I looked everywhere and everyone refused us. We finally were able to get Liberty Mutual....through my DH's work and only because they knew him. Otherwise I don't know what we would have done.

Oh yeah, I just re-read this.

Neither Allstate or State Farm write insurance in Massachusetts.
