My Happy Place

I've been many times to the world and it's always great but hope to have some great DVC happy times starting tomorrow!! Being on the DIS helps me keep the happy place alive for me!

My happy place is the crepe stand outside of France at Epcot. I love their ice cream. It is just soft serve but for some reason it tastes so good to me. I have to go there every trip.

I also have a few.
1.) Walking into the lobby at SSR and hearing my first Welcome Home for the week.
2.) Opening the door to my room that first day and knowing that I am 'home' for 6 days.
3.) Pecos Bill's in the Magic Kingdom for a humongous hamburger loaded with mushrooms. YUMMO!!
4.) First dip in the pool after a hot morning at one of the parks.
5.) SOARIN'!! because half of those lovely places that we visit on SOARIN' I have never seen in person.

Mine really starts when we drive on to Disney property under the big welcome sign, I just grin from ear to ear. Once I am to that point I just get enveloped by the ambience of WDW and I stay that way the whole trip. Some particular favorites are; strolling around World Showcase at Epcot, walking down Mainstreet USA in MK and catching that first castle view, walking toward ToT and RNR in DHS, watching the Festival of the Lion King at AK. I think my favorite thing is seeing constant smiles on the faces of my family.

totally off subject here but wanted to ask you about HHI contract! I see that you got your contract for $50.00 per point!!!!!!!!! Is that right? I am wanting to buy a contract there too and have been waiting for something around 100 points with an Aug UY but 150 seems to be the closest thing! I just thought the price you got was GREAT and wanted to make sure it is right before I possibly place a bid on a contract there. Thanks for your help, we went to HHI last April and just LOVED it! Congrats on your new contract! Alison

I see that I share a common happy place with a few friends here. My two happiest happy places:

1.) The monorail. I was always fascinated with it as a kid, and I still get the same happy feelings as a big kid when I get my ride on.

2.) Splash Mountain. Everything about it. The "critters" in the trees, the fake wood, the happy song (still don't know what they're singing), and the furry animatronics. The only thing I don't like is the water, so I always wear a poncho and even lift my feet up under it.

I think mine is the beach at VWL... I'm at peace when I am there.

1. Walking into MK and down mainstreet as DD5 says "look its Cinderella's House!". Everytime it takes me back to our first trip when the MAGIC overtook us all!!!!

Okay...I'm weighing in with another one here. It's my little bit of happy place at home.

The smell of Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber fragrance. I used that lotion on our first DVC trip and every time I smell it, it takes me back to that little studio at VWL where we first were "home": how happy we were and how we found that VWL was where we belonged! That was a great trip: 9 days, 8 nights.....lots of time for the magic!!!

Sitting down for a quick snack or meal at The Contempo Cafe.... The Contemporary Resort has always been a magical and happy place for me since I first laid eyes upon it in the fall of 1971 as a 4/5 year old little boy..... and Yes we own at BLT

Another "Happy Place" for me is the moment you step into Fantasyland after going on the Haunted Mansion. There is just something special about Fantasyland.

The whole experience so far has been great. Every trip has had something special, whether sharing DVC with our extended family, or just the three of us. I dont know why, but I always feel that there is truly a magic to Disney, I get there and something changes.

I think the evenings when our daughter goes to bed. We are sitting in a beautiful, spacious living room rather than a cramped hotel. We dont have to tip-toe around to keep from waking our daughter. We sit back and talk about the day we just had, and the memories that will last a lifetime, those are the best moments thanks to DVC. Whoever would have thought you could have a relaxing vacation in a place like WDW, but we do!

As for our happy place - there are many, but here goes :
1. Driving into WDW and seeing all the Highway signs for the various resort areas. Knowing we are now home.
2. Hearing the first Welcome Home of the Vacation
3. EPCOT (my favorite park) for the F&W Fest - always my happy place
4. Entering each park - One of the most exciting moments of each trip coming up to the entry gate
5. Having Fish & Chips with a Guiness in EPCOT at Yorkshire County Fish Shop
6. Riding the Monorail
7. Dinner at Artists Point at Wilderness Lodge
8. Having an Ice Cream and watching the evening shows on the Boardwalk at BWV's
9. Golfing at LBV
10. The time of a lifetime with my family, and constant smiles on my wife and daughter. Knowing how lucky we are to have been able to be members in DVC

The music... all the music... everywhere you turn there is Disney music setting the mood and making everything special. Thats a Happy Place!

I discovered another "Happy Place" on my trip lastweek. It's the Bakery on Main Street! In all the years I've been going to WDW, I've never gone into the Bakery!! Well last week I went in, ordered coffee and this "to die for coffee cake" and sat outside at a table and watched the world walk by. I can't begin to tell you all how I felt. Peaceful? Calm? Content? Maybe just plain ole HAPPY! I think I'll do this each time I go to WDW.
