My guide told me payments aren't due until like Oct or Sept. for my AKV contracts. Now MS is telling me first payments are due May 15th. What the heck. Its doesn't really matter but it still really ticks me off that she always tells me one this and then says another and then makes me feel dumb by saying oh I never said that. Shes patronizing really.

So when are they due May or later in the year?

Thats was MS said. Nope shes said nothing would be due until Sept. or Oct. Except for the down payment.

I was told me the same thing. The only payment due right now would be the down payment.

I haven't talked to MS yet, but when I bought Saratoga before it opened I didn't make any payments until the actual opening.

Read your contract. It should tell you when the first payment is due and when your closing is scheduled.

You're right Maistre Gracey, it certainly is true!

I will clarify that statement. I was told no payments or dues would be due until SEptember and that we could begin making reservations for AKV in May.

I've already sent my paperwork with my down payment back, my first payment is due May 15th with dues not due til the end of the year prorated to my UY month which is Oct.

Our guide (Michelle) told the same as what barlitz said. Our paperwork also agrees - payments start in May and the dues with our October use-year. Sorry about your guide, but I'm certainly happy ours knows what she is talking about. :thumbsup2

Jeez, you guys are making me sorry I paid in full right away!

It really doesn't make sense that we have to start paying before we can use them. I have never heard of this being the case. :confused3

But it does make sense that you should start paying before you can make reservations, and since May is the date for making reservations, I would expect you should pay by then.

No I still don't think that makes sense. I CAN'T use them in May so why should we have to start paying for them. Who cares if I can may a ressie?

It doesn't make any difference really because we are going to pay for them anyways but it just the point of the whole think.

But didn't you want to change your incentive, and use the developer points in March?? ;)

While I will start paying in May, because I want to pay this off asap, I do agree it seems a bit unfair to be paying for something until it is useful. If I go to the local auto dealer and order a car by spec, I don't start paying for it until a month after I take delivery. If you build a house, you don't start paying until after you actually draw money for the construction, even though you technically close sooner. Like I say, I just as soon pay it off than draw it out.

So atleast you got my point:)

Do you wait to book your flights to MCO until shortly before you travel so you don't have to pay for your tickets months before you will actually use them or do you buy them in advance to get a lower price?

With AKV you have the option of paying more and getting something you can use now (developer points) or buying in at a discounted price in exchange for waiting a few months to use your first points. Actually you have a third option: wait until the resort is open before purchasing an add-on, though you may have to wait quite a while before you could buy in and get current-UY points with your purchase.

Not a very good example.

It is just the point of the whole thing. I get told one thing and now its a different story. I will pay it off next year anyways but its just annoying. So really I am upset with my guide.

Plus now she is saying that she never said that and "I" must have miss heard her.

If it's not a big deal, and you're going to pay it off anyway, is really worth getting upset at your guide?

I would just let this one go....
