Just had to share! I am retiring from teaching after 30 years. No more having to visit WDW on school breaks! I have been a member of DVC since 1994, and it will be great to use it any time I want.
And I hope you enjoy visiting WDW in the non-summer times. Since DW & I have our daughters out of high school we've begun going to WDW at other times after 12 years of almost only summer trips.
You'll really enjoy Florida when it's not 90+ degrees!
DH retired after 38 years of teaching HS social studies. He still subs, and in fact we got a call at 6:30 am last Monday when we were at AKV! The sub caller forgot we were on vacation. He loves the freedom to enjoy my university calendar and visit in May. Although last week was just as hot as any July or August we've been in WDW.
Did you retire because you wanted to or because the state is forcing you to? Here in Wisconsin many tears have been shed as long time teachers are being forced into retirement by our Tea Party Governor.
Congratulations on your retirement! DW and I are both teachers, but we have a few more years to go before we retire (15 for me, 10 for her). I too would love not to have to travel during school breaks.
Congratulations on your retirement! It really is nice not having to restrict your vacation to certain dates or for that matter to a limited vacation time. Only our points and money restrict them now.
