For those of you familiar with her Christmas gifts, her graduation gifts are just as interesting!

My older daughter just graduated from high school, and my son graduated from middle school so we had a double party for both of them.

My daughter opened hers first. She actually had 2 gifts, probably because high school graduation is a bigger deal. :confused3 The first one was a pair of small enamel penguin-shaped stud earrings. Upon closer inspection, it seems that the penguins each have 3 eyes! LOL Nothing like a pair of mutant penguin earrings that scream "Congratulations!"

The other gift was just as funny. It was a plastic goose about 2 feet tall that you are supposed to fill with sand and put on your porch. The best part of it is that the goose came with many holiday "outfits". This goose has more clothes than I do! Now, to be honest, I have seen these out in the country somewhere, and that's fine. But my MIL thought it would be a great addition to my daughter's dorm room when she goes to college in the fall.

My son's gift seriously made me cry, from laughter that is! (after she left of course!). He opened up this package and pulled out what looked like a plush penguin with no stuffing. It was totally flat except the head. Of course my son had to ask if it was "penguin roadkill" :rotfl2: Then my MIL said, "Lift up the flap on it's back". So, my son turned it over and opened the flap. Inside was one of those old fashioned rubber hot water bottles! You know the kind that you always see on people's heads in old movies! I nearly died! She thought that since he was playing high school football this fall he might need one. I told him I was going to make him bring it to practice every day in case he gets hurt :lmao:

Tell me, WHERE does she find this stuff?? I wish I knew how to post pictures, because you have to see this thing to be believed! She must have been watching a March of the Penguins marathon or something because of the whole penguin theme going on. ;)

Omg :rotfl2: It's serioulsy sad that your DD didn't have those earrings to wear in her senior portraits!

I love reading about your MIL's gifts! I've read every Christmas gift! :rotfl:

The water bottle is a hoot! OMG!!!!!

Having 2 kids in college right now, I can safely say she would be unique having that. However, I have seen them in my mother's retirement community.:rotfl:

This just made me spit soda on my screen. Hopefully diet coke plus doesn't short circuit my computer.

MY AUNT HAS THIS!! and she actually asked for it for XMas from her kids. I think shes gotten tired of "dressing" the duck though (really who wouldn't) so when my cousin comes home for holidays shes the only one that cares about it. This is also the same cousin that bought her mother a box of fungus last yr for Xmas (she didnt realize that the mushroom garden she ordered would come as a big box of dirt with fungus in it). Yeah we all want her as our secret santa!

I haven't seen the goose with outfits but I have seen flamingos with outfits for each holiday. Actually thought it would be fun to put in my yard to annoy the HOA and persnickety (don't know why but I love that word) neighbors we have.:)

Great gifts though. I'm sure your son can't wait to take his penguin to practice with him.:rotfl:

Just think, Christmas is less than 6 mo. away!!!!!!

:lmao:

Really, this is all I can type through the tears of laughter in my eyes.
