For those of you familiar with her Christmas gifts, her graduation gifts are just as interesting!
My older daughter just graduated from high school, and my son graduated from middle school so we had a double party for both of them.
My daughter opened hers first. She actually had 2 gifts, probably because high school graduation is a bigger deal.
The first one was a pair of small enamel penguin-shaped stud earrings. Upon closer inspection, it seems that the penguins each have 3 eyes! LOL Nothing like a pair of mutant penguin earrings that scream "Congratulations!"
The other gift was just as funny. It was a plastic goose about 2 feet tall that you are supposed to fill with sand and put on your porch. The best part of it is that the goose came with many holiday "outfits". This goose has more clothes than I do! Now, to be honest, I have seen these out in the country somewhere, and that's fine. But my MIL thought it would be a great addition to my daughter's dorm room when she goes to college in the fall.
My son's gift seriously made me cry, from laughter that is! (after she left of course!). He opened up this package and pulled out what looked like a plush penguin with no stuffing. It was totally flat except the head. Of course my son had to ask if it was "penguin roadkill"
Then my MIL said, "Lift up the flap on it's back". So, my son turned it over and opened the flap. Inside was one of those old fashioned rubber hot water bottles! You know the kind that you always see on people's heads in old movies! I nearly died! She thought that since he was playing high school football this fall he might need one. I told him I was going to make him bring it to practice every day in case he gets hurt
Tell me, WHERE does she find this stuff?? I wish I knew how to post pictures, because you have to see this thing to be believed! She must have been watching a March of the Penguins marathon or something because of the whole penguin theme going on.
