My garage sale total...

How much of the $300 did they spend at CEC?:lmao:

That is just sad. I make it a point to buy from kids.

LOL...I had a 100 tokens for $10 coupon which lasted them a while!!

It IS sad. I do too...and honestly if I wasn't thirsty, I would probably still buy it and then just dump it after I left!

I really like the fill a bag idea for the clothes...I think I will try that next time!

I did the bag thing too. Except mine were fill a grocery bag for 1$. The clothes I had left though were not very good. I had taken all the good things to the resale shops. I just wanted to get rid of the stuff and the rest is going to the red box.

One day sale on Fri. from 8:30-1pm, grand total $569. That is after I deducted the cost of our newspaper ad. Not bad, but not as good as last year. I brought in $1185 over two days last year. But, I didn't have any big items or baby stuff this year so not bad considering.

I love the idea of letting people fill bags of clothes for a price...easy!! Do you just use plastic store bags for that?

Yes...we just used Walmart bags.

We had new with tags things and everything in it. My Mom and I used to sell clothes, so we had tons of that left and I had a bunch of things the kids outgrew. What we had left over went to a Missions outreach clothing program.

I just particpated in the big "100 mile Garage Sale" weekend and had a great sale!!! Garage saling is huge around here, and we have at least one (sometimes two) sales every summer. This was my first time doing the 100 mile, though. I (my kids and I) brought in almost $700 dollars in two days - our entire group brought in over $2300!!! :cool1:

My regular garage sale is next weekend at my aunt's house for their citywide sales. Normally I have $300-400 dollars for the two days, but I really don't have much stuff left! I think I'll spend the week drumming up for more sale items! :lmao:

For those interested, I think the area you live in as a big part of your success. I sell my kids' clothes for $2-5 per piece. The majority of my sales come from clothes. I do, however, make sure they are in good shape and stainless (which is becoming more difficult as they get older). I don't mind the work of getting things ready because it is pretty therapeutic to reduce clutter...especially when I end up with a good chunk of change! My first purchase will be a nice massage, though! ;)

WOW! This must have been garage sale weekend. We made $330.30

I took some of the hints from the disboards and posted a free ad on Craigslist and put up a bunch of signs. We also sold water for 50 cents a bottle. We had non stop people from 8am to 2pm. It was a beautiful day.

The best part is all the extra space I now have from cleaning out all the old stuff.
