We will be at WDW from Friday, October 23rd to Tuesday, October 27th. We will be staying at AOA and have tickets for MNSSHP on the 25th. We should be able to get to a park by 3:00 on our arrival day. We plan to do DHS that afternoon/evening. My choices for FP for that day are: TSMM, Star Tours, and TOT/VOTLM. We have a couple of other things we want to do and will be seeing Fantasmic also.
On that Saturday we will be going to AK in the morning for a few attractions and then maybe take a break and head to MK for the afternoon/evening. I am assuming that since MK will be busy due to being the only weekend day with MSEP and Wishes, that I should get MK FP instead of AK?? If so, we will have three days to get MK FP+ for (Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday). On Monday we will be at Epcot and plan to get Soarin, Spaceship Earth, and maybe character spot or Nemo? I am kind of confused at what nine FP to get at MK. I know we want: SDMT, Splash Mountain, Anna/Elsa (for two of us), Ariel (for two of us), and not sure what else to get??? While I take our dd to Anna/Elsa and Ariel my dh will take our ds to Space and BTMRR (they will get those FP instead of the characters).

What would those of you that have been since FP+ started suggest we use our other FP for?

The FP+ thread found HERE. Read post #1 and #2 for FP+ recommendations and timing advice.

Here's what I just figured out: Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan, SDMT for 2 of us (IASW for the other 2), Splash Mtn, Under the Sea, POTC, Meet Anna/Elsa for 2 of us (BTMRR for the other 2), Meet Ariel for 2 of us (Space Mtn for the other 2). How does that plan sound? Now I just have to figure out which days for which rides. I know Anna/Elsa will have to be on our last day...

You won't ever need a FP for Small World or Under the Sea.

If you ride first thing in the mornings, you won't need a FP to ride Splash Mtn. or BTMRR.
Either and/or both can be ridden (often several times in a row) during the first 1-2 hours after MK opens.

Would our FP be better spent at our morning at AK? We want to do the safari, EE, and Dinosaur. I just knew that MK would be busy when we arrive since it's the only late night that weekend due to the parties.

How well can you see the daytime parade from the FP parade spots? That could be an option for us on Saturday b/c we haven't seen that parade and the kids love parades! We will definitely be at MK from AK by 3:00.

If you go in the morning to DAK, I still find it necessary to use a FP for the Safari and Dinosaur. You never know about Everest. If you go in early - Everest is easy to ride a few times standby (plus the queue is cool), but I would still grab a FP for it if you want to ride it more than once. I find Dinosaur and Peter Pan to be very frustrating to wait in standby. I can't really explain that though.

I watched the parades a few times in July at MK and had great views without FP. We like watching in the Liberty Square area.

If you use your FP early at DAK, you might be able to pick up your 4th and 5th or more at MK that night for some of those other rides you mentioned.

The FP+ parade reserved area is right on the street in Town Square (around the flag pole.)

But, I would not use a FP+ for the daytime parade.
The FP+ parade reserved area sits in direct sunlight, and the 3:00 Parade takes nearly a half an hour to even reach that area.

There are many good viewing spots.
Deep in Frontierland (where the 3:00 Parade begins) is a great spot, as is near Hall of Presidents.
Both of those areas are much less crowded than along Main Street or in the Hub.

Does anyone else have any opinions on whether or not we should use our FP at AK on that Saturday morning (it's the recommended park that day) or should we save the FP for MK that afternoon?

your trip sounds a lot like mine! we are making our FP+ too, a day later than you... a must for us, if a FP+ for Enchanted Tales with Belle, Under the Sea with Ariel, Meeting Mickey in Town Square, Princess hall

I asked my 7yo dd and she doesn't want to do enchanted tales with Belle. Now I'm trying to decide between 3 days worth of FP at MK or 2 days at MK and one at AK....

You will simply not need a FP for Under the Sea with Ariel.
You can ride it, over-and-over, as much as you like nearly any time of day.

I recommend using a FP+ for something that needs it.

We never use FP at AK. I have FP for MK 3 days of my next trip, several of them are repeats for rides I know I will want to do more than once, which for me is mainly Space Mtn. (I have a SM FP all 3 of my days there.) I also have Buzz, Haunted mansion, BTMRR, Sever Dwarfs, Splash, Jungle cruise
