Also my first trip to the food and wine festival.
A little background, I am recently separated. He never liked Disney and would do things like give me the silent treatment while we were there for no apparent reason. I found that he prevented me from really enjoying life. Would tell me I was getting carried away if I laughed too loud or acted too happy.
That said, Disney has been my happy place since my first visit in 2007. 20 or so visits later, I still love it. I have never been to the food and wine festival, and found myself without a partner this year due to separation. I hesitated a bit but went anyway. I had a boardwalk view studio, from which I could see the fireworks from Fantasmic, Illuminations and Magic Kingdom in the distance. Good thing that is because I was so tired from my days in the parks and evenings at F&W to stay out for the fireworks.
I booked 4 wine seminars and a tequila seminars, a couple of table service dinners. I was so busy during the week that it went by really fast. I found that I was talking to people all the time (my fear was that I'd be lonely). Folks at the F&W seem to be relaxed and open and friendly.
This was a great experience for me. I hope I get to do it again. Thanks to DVC I was able to do it this time, and feel safe and at home. Love my DVC.
