Let me start off by saying that I am a little intimidated doing this. I have read so many GREAT trip reports, I feel like I have a lot to live up to. I am neither a great story teller or a great writer, but I do love Disney and I want to share that with you all!

Location: Kennesaw, GA (about 15 miles North of Atlanta)

Cast:

Me, DH, Nick: I am 26 years old and I have been going to Disney since I was 9months. I have been over 30 times (lost count around 20). I have been doing my own pre-trip reports since I was about 13.

Me and Pluto on my first an only trip to Disneyland!

DW (Katy): My beautiful wife is 28 years old and we will have been married 2 years on Aug 21. She is now a Disney nut! I have brought her over to the Dark Side (I know it's not really the dark side, but outsiders do not understand it).

DS (Isaac): My son is 4 1/2 months old. We found out we were expecting him last March while at Disney for a Braves spring training game. His first trip to WDW.

Trip Date: Sept. 21-25, 2007

Let me start off by telling you how this future trip came about.

Last March, while staying at POP Century for a Braves spring training game, my wife woke up with a terrible migraine. She never gets headaches like this, so I knew something was wrong. We took a pregnancy test and surprise!!! We were expecting our first child!!! I could not have been any more excited. Needless to say, the next few months were full of morning sickness, evening sickness, heat flashes, moodiness...what other adjective can I use to describe a 10-month pregnancy?! Well, on December 10th, 2006 at 2:16 am, Isaac decided to join us. Little did I know, December 9th, 2006 was the last night I would have a full nights sleep!! However, I wouldn't change anything for the world. I never thought I could love something as much as I love that little boy.

I know you did not read this to see a journal of my life, I promised a Disney pre-trip report and that is exactly what you'll get!

In Feb. 2007 the Atlanta Braves were getting ready to go back to Spring Training. I need a vacation! Having a newborn is A LOT of work. Why didn't someone tell us that!! It has been nearly 1 full year since I have been to God's Country (WDW). I was starting to have major withdrawals. DW and I talked about taking Isaac to WDW when he was about a year so he could it a little more....well, I'm just flesh and blood, I couldn't stand to wait that long. I needed to devise a plan to get to WDW, and soon!

I was surfing the WDW website and came across the Disney Triathlon. I have never done a triathlon, I have never ran over 3.1 miles, nor do I swim well, not to mention I haven't rode a bike in 10 years...but was that going to stop me.....NO! This was my ticket to WDW and I was NOT going to miss the boat on this. I called DW and told her that we were going to WDW in Sept. and I was going to compete in a triathlon. After she finished laughing she said, "OK." I couldn't believe it, my plan actually worked!!

At least in my mind it worked. I know DW needs a vacation more than I do. She stays at home with DS all day and stays up with him almost all night. She deserves this break as much as anyone! This is so exciting! I'm taking my family to WDW!! I have always gone to WDW with my parents...now it's my turn to be the parent taking my family to WDW!!! Life is good!

I have to run now, I will finish up the story/pre-trip report after lunch. I will fill you in on where we are staying, what park we are going to and what places we are having dinner!
I hope I have not bored too many people and please forgive any misspelled words and poor grammar!

From one Georgian to another, congratulations on Isaac and the next trip.

However, I would try to get out of the whole triathalon thing.

Well, after I received the green light from my DW, I called Disney's reservation number. I reserved 3 nights at POP Century preferred view. I prefer these rooms to the standard rooms. I love the close proximity to the main pool and dining hall. Everything seemed to be set until I found out WDW began offering FREE DINING!! I was able to call Disney and get the free dining package and add another night. Since I was getting free meals, I could afford to stay another night. Well, enough of my babbling. I will list my itinerary below. Please feel free to offer up suggestions. This is my first trip with an infant. DS will be about 9 months at the time of the trip (same age as me for my first trip).

Sept. 21:
-Leave Kennesaw, GA at 6am. I have to beat Atlanta rush hour traffic.
-Arrive at POP Century around 3pm.
-Unpack; spend some time at the pool with DS.
-8:00pm: Dinner reservations at Spoodles on the Boardwalk (1st trip here)
-Spend the rest of the evening strolling around the Boardwalk with my family. Spend some time in the hammocks at the Swan, grab an ice cream at Beaches and Cream and I may even sit on the beach across from the Yacht and Beach Club.
-Try to get some sleep; big day at the Magic Kingdom tomorrow!!!

Sept. 22:
-11:00am: MAGIC KINGDOM! This will be the first time I get to take DS to the Magic Kingdom. I'm not sure what all rides he will be able to participate on. I want him to ride Pirates, Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo and TTA. I know he will not remember any of this, but I want pictures with him on everything. We will eat lunch and dinner with our free dining passes. Probably Peco's Bill Cafe and Cosmic Ray's. Suggestions welcome! What are good rides for kids this age? Any other counter service restaurants we should eat?

-8pm: We will probably turn into the hotel relatively early tonight. I have a triathlon tomorrow!

Sept. 23:

-7am: Make my way to Fort Wilderness for the Triathlon. This is what I have been training for, for nearly 6 months, this was my ticket to WDW!!
-12pm:The race should be over by now, assuming I didn't drown or get eaten by an alligator in Bay Lake.
-1pm-6pm: Relax at the hotel. Spend quality time with my family
-7pm: Dinner at Kona's. I have never eaten here either, but I love the Polynesian and I can't wait to try this place out.
-9pm: Head back to the resort for some much needed rest!!

Sept. 24:

-Whenever I wake up: Today is a free day. I know we will spend some time at Downtown Disney. We may use one of our counter meals at Earl of Sandwich. DW loves that place.
-6pm: Head towards the Grand Floridian. We have dinner reservations at Narcooses at 7:30. This is the first time I have eaten here.
-9pm: Spend time at GF and CR. Go to the top of the California Grill and walk out on the balcony. Enjoy our last night at WDW.
-10pm: Head back to the resort and pack. :sad2:

Sept. 25:

-11am: I guess we will be checking out about now. We have had a wonderful vacation and I have finished a triathlon (I hope). We will stop by Celebration on the way home. My wife and I love walking by the lake and eating on the sidewalk there. We will probably take DS to the park as well.
-Whenever we feel like it: We will be heading back to Atlanta, GA. It has been a great trip and I will miss Disney. Hopefully we will be back VERY soon!!!

Thanks for taking this trip with me. Please feel free to leave me suggestions or tips. How can I make my trip better?? What can I do to make my trip reports better?? I look forward to hearing from you!

Go Dawgs!!! That is a UGA shirt I have on in my picture from DL.

Go Dawgs!

I'm sure you'll find a time to get an update on the Georgia-Alabama game on the 22nd. It would work out really well if it was a night game on ESPN, so you might could catch a glimpse or two after you turn in early. Just sayin'.

I love how excited you about bringing your son to WDW for the first time!!! I hope you have a great trip and enjoy it!!

You are going to have so much fun taking your baby. Be sure to get a picture of him in front of the castle for the first time.

With out a doubt!! I have a list of places I want to get his picture. That is on top of the list! I also want a picture of him in the hammocks by the Swan (my fav. spot in all of Disney), Pirates, Main Street and many others!!!!!

Probably Peco's Bill Cafe and Cosmic Ray's. Suggestions welcome! What are good rides for kids this age? Any other counter service restaurants we should eat?

My son enjoyed all the boat-type rides and he loved Dumbo (move him up and down a lot). He mainly enjoyed being outside and strolling around.

It sounds like you have a nice, relaxing trip planned. Minus the triatholon :rotfl:
