Today we were at MGM and DS4 who has Asperger's wanted to meet the Storm Trooper. THere was a "handler" with him who said the line was closed. I was trying to explain to Drew that they had to go and DS17 got to the handler and explained the situation and that it was a big deal for DS4 to even want to meet a character. The next thing I knew we were standing by a sign and was told since DS17 was such a great brother we were family of the day on the Star Wars ride. Not sure what was going on I just stood there. The next thing I knew the Storm Trooper was leading us thru special lines past everyone in every line. He was even pushing past people in the Fast Pass line. He tookd DS 4 by the hand and lead him to the first car walked him in to the car got down on one knee signed his book, gave him a hug and let me get a couple pictures. I was in shock and could only keep saying thank you over and over. I was about to cry it was so special. Better than any Dream Fast pass for this mom. DS4 was on :cloud9: for quite a while. He even got the courage to meet his Idol the Snow Queen later in the day. :cheer2:

Congratulations for having raised such a loving and caring son....your family deserved to have this magical moment :thumbsup2

I'm so happy for you...reading this brought a tear to my eye as my son (16) also has aspergers/high functioning autism (he's been diagnosed with both at different times). When he was the age of your son, we had such a difficult time with lines/waiting. What a wonderful thing to happen. What a wonderful older brother your little one has. Please let your older one know just what a loving gesture that was! I sure wish my son had an older sibling like that. You are doing a fine job mom!:thumbsup2

What a wondeful story ! You must be really proud of your son . It must have been a real special time for your ds4. :wizard:

Sounds like you have 2 wonderful sons. I am so glad that you had this magical experience!!

Thanks for sharing your story. that is truly a magical moment. :sunny:

Excellent story. You've got a couple great kids there.

That is a wonderful story. You are very lucky to have a family like that. I myself have a Down Syndrome brother and I work with autist children. Hearing/reading an experience like that makes my heart swell up to hear that there are good people out there. Congratulations again on your wonderful family and hold onto that memory for as long as you can!

Thanks everyone. It was incredible. Right now it would be a magical moment if I could get everyone out of bed to hit Animal Kingdom :rotfl2:

Awww, it must have made your son's day!! And yours as well!

Thanks for sharing your story. My DS10, has been diagnosed with ADHD/LD and is said to have Autistic tendencies. When people share their stories it makes me feel good to know that other people share some of the same problems I do. I know all too well, that sometimes little things can set him off. What an awesome older brother he has!! Thanks for sharing a great magical moment.

That is really great!! My DS is high functioning Autistic also and my DD is deaf and has a cochlear implant.....it's wonderful to take the kids to Disney, they are so wonderful there!!

I love this story! Thank you for sharing with us how caring your DS is and how responsive the handler was. It make my heart sing to know that there are people who will step outside the box to make a child happy.
