Please, go easy on me.....I feel sorry for the Bulls.:(

No, as long as the idiots running are adults they should be allowed to be idiots. Why should it be banned?

I gotta say, I too am cheering for the bulls. They are all "condemned" since they are headed for the bull ring and if the stupid humans want to try and out run them, they can be my guests. I won't shed any tears for them. I am certainly glad that we don't allow bull fighting in this country. I find it interesting that they will stand up to a defenseless bull captive in a ring but back down in the face of terrorism which threatens everyone.

I think everyone I know cheers for the bulls. Anyone who runs in that race is an idiot.

It is part of their culture for this event! Who are we to judge?

Just because its a "cultural event" doesn't mean its worthwhile. We judge things that others consider "cultural" all of the time. In Saudi Arabia its cultural for women to be kept covered and not allowed to drive. In parts of Africa, its cultural to circumcize females. I don't see either of those two things a good cultural value.

DawnCt- you hit the nail on the head for me, thanks.;) I am sure this has been a "tradition" for MANY years, but, its time has come.:o

Bull fights go on every sunday in Spain, specially in the south. They consider that a sport.

I find it interesting that they will stand up to a defenseless bull captive in a ring but back down in the face of terrorism which threatens everyone.
Terrorism has been threatening Spaniards for many years and no other country cared to help them because they were not affected by it, that includes the USA.
Don't be so quick to judge until you walk a mile in the same shoes.

That may be true, but in Spain, people sign up to run with the bulls on their own free will!

That is clearly true with regards to the people BUT when did the bulls sign up? My sympathy lies with the bulls. Let the idiots run with the lions if it suits them.

I don't think women and bulls are quite in the same category.

Let's see, we sit in boats for hours just trying to get a poor fish to swallow a hook. People sit out in the woods for hours waiting for a deer to innocently walk by so they can put a bullet through it's brain and we call that a sport????

I don't think we have too much room to talk.

It's their culture, their business and we don't need to understand it. The sooner we start worrying about what happens within our own borders and quit trying to tell the world how they ought to live, the better off we'll be.

I think the running should be banned. The only good part is those when someone gets a bull horn up their butt. Bullfighting should be banned as well.

woah woah. I think there are two topics going on here: The Running of the Bulls and Bullfighting. Granted, the running of the bulls leads to bullfighting but are we only concentrating on the actual run or the events after it?

Why would you want to deprive the bulls of a good run and a chance to get even with a few humans? ;)

Well, I guess you can count me as an idiot, because it's something I've always wanted to do. My Dad did it about 25 years ago when he was living in Spain, so I guess he's an even bigger idiot. There are three certainties in life... Death, Taxes, and Judgemental DISers spouting off about things they know nothing about. Gotta love it...

Have fun Grog, I would hate to deprive the bulls of chasing you down the street.

Why get rid of it it has been tradition for many many years it is after all something that the country loves to do and to see so let them have at it I personally wouldn't do it but but I do like to watch it when they air it on tv.

Now that part sounds right to me!

I believe it is a form of natural selection. Except there are too many survivors...I am cheering for the bulls. :cheer2:
