After an amazing hot morning with blue skies and lots of sun, huge clouds starting appearing

008-3.jpg

We were "Brave" or "Rebelle" enough to head into the Studios looking for food

009-4.jpg

but found that we'd probably have to wait to the 1st of August to (see the film here in France) get something to eat as the Blockbuster Cafe and Café des Cascadeurs were closed :sad2:

So we left the masses waiting to meet Minnie

010-5.jpg

and headed off to the other side where the clouds were getting bigger and bigger

011-3.jpg

It's now 14.30 and we are hungry

We passed the Lucky Nugget (closed), headed off to Fuente del Oro (queue out of all the doors), across to Colonel Hathis (closed), along to Hakuna Matata ( no seating and queues at all tills).

It's started to rain a bit but we soldier on across the bridge to Chalet de la Marionette (OH says if we want a cheeseburger we'd be better going to McDo and he would be right) so we wander to Toad Hall (closed) ... Seeing a pattern here :headache:

Work our way round Fantasyland and get to Bella Notte (closed) so keep going until Victoria's (yep closed). Main street Deli was open but queues were unreasonable  so we left the park and unamiously decided to go to Val d'Europe and eat.

Those clouds turned very nasty as we got to the car

Seated straight away at Hippo and having just placed our orders the sky went black and it poured down with thunder and high winds and it stayed that way throughout our meal

Still very very windy now but very warm

And that was my half day at DLP ;)

Ride times were very short in the main park 5-25 mins and even in Studios Crush was only showing at 45.

Feeling your annoyance Carrie

I hope you popped into City Hall and complained before leaving the park!

Not good all those food outlets closed.

I would of expected them to be open at this time of the year.

It seems DLRP management never learn :headache:

Imagine if you'd spent thousands on your holiday and found most restaurants were closed. It'd then be even worse when you discover you have to queue for half an hour in the few ones that are open.

Sort it out Disney!

About the only counter service restaurant we could rely on was Cafe Hyperion last week, which is a real shame because there were loads of others we'd prefer, and some new ones we wanted to try.

Maybe, as we always go in non-high season (ie before July or after August) we'll just never again get a full range of counter service restaurants to choose from at DLP? Its such a waste of some beautiful theming too.

When will they realise that it is unacceptable to keep so many restaurants closed that the queues to eat are longer than those for most rides. :confused3

The more I hear this (and the lack of random character meets, so, number of characters out and about), the more I think they've reigned in the budget this year to try and pay for the 20th decorations and show, and the overheads associated with the park being open longer hours which must be huge.

Still, I cannot see the point of only having two thirds of a park open longer hours :confused3. Disney have really got it wrong here!

Carrie - sorry to hear about your experience but hope you had a nice meal at Hippo :goodvibes.

The only CS restaurants open this week was Caseys Corner, Cafe Hyperion and Chalet de Marionette. Very disappointing

Seeing that there was yet another massive queue in there :lmao:we didn't but I sent an email off

Looking at the queue in Fuente del Oro you would be waiting over an hour easy..at the best of times c/s "fast food" is never speedy service so I dread to think how long people would be waiting :sad2:

Last year it wasn't like this there was loads more open.

I think that with the extra opening hours they have moved staff from the food oulets and put them into the shops as they make more money out of retail sales.

We had a lovely meal thank you :goodvibes and it was no more dearer than 2 c/s meals as there is 30% off mains before 7.30 pm ;)

Hi,

Is there a reason for this?: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2946421

We're a little worried about how well we will eat when we holiday with you??

Kind regards,

Mark

Says it all really doesn't it :rolleyes2

Mkes me so mad as when we went over there the other night I went into City Hall as I've not had a reply and they couldn't tell me what was open at that time in the park concerning c/s :furious:

To me it's stinks of pushing/forcing people into paying more by having only t/s and buffet options really open..as if you've queued 30-60 minutes for a burger one day you aren't going to be wanting to do that the next and will eat in a t/s or buffet restaurant

Thanks guys,

because of this I just emailed them and asked about a schedule for the upcoming weekend. We'll see if they reply in time :surfweb:.

If they do and there are c/s on the list it would be interesting to see how many are open as they should be as people are still complaining about eating options :)

This is just silly. I really wonder what the Management of DLRP are thinking these days?

I agree that something has happened when they agreed to keep the park open longer - it's like they've had to seriously cut costs elsewhere and to my thinking it's C/S eateries, character showings and certain ride mannings that have taken the can.

If they can't have the park open to almost full operating capacity for most of the opening hours then quite frankly, they should reduce the hours so they can! ;)
