I just listed my first item on EBay. I've been talking about doing it for WAY too long, and finally overcame whatever crazy fears were stopping me. I did forget to put the "Proud Disboards Member" at the bottom, but I'll do that next time. I have a TON of stuff to sell. My mom moved to assisted living a few months ago and I have to sell her house. She was a "collector" of anything and everything for over 60 years. Acorns not falling far from the tree, I have tons of extra stuff in my house too. I have lots of great Disney stuff to put up once I figure out what I'm doing.
So, here I go! I'd really appreciate any advice or constructive criticism. I really need this to work!
My user name is PattiA3.
Thanks!

One thing I didn't do w/my first selling auction that I should have-make a requirement about feedback-Eg-If your feedback is less than 10, please message me prior to bidding. I got burned on a nonpaying bidder (though I filed my stuff w/Ebay and all was well) on my first sale, though I'd been using Ebay/Half.com for three years.

Always use delivery confirmation when you ship. I learned this the hard way. And if it's anything that can break buy insurance. The insurance is for you not the buyer. I include these prices in my S/H fee. I lost a lot of money on my first auctions because I didn't factor in ebay fees, paypal fees, packaging supplies and shipping fees. It's a big chunk of money. I always combine shipping to please my customers but I usually end up losing money.

Delivery confirmation is free when you print your own shipping from home :)

OP - I didn't see anything listed under your ID. Is it scheduled to start later?

Op's auction number is 120046514175.

It looks fine, good image, clear description.

Thank you! That is a huge relief!

Thanks to everyone for the advice, I've saved it all for future reference.

Always state your turn around time, even if you ship the same day or next...just in case. I list 3 business days but ship way before. Most of my feedback says fast shipping, etc.

Add a handling charge to your shipping to make up for your time (boxing things up, going to the post office, etc) and packing supplies...

Never leave feedback until they leave you feedback.

If I think of anything else, I will post again...

Never use a reserve...I hate that!!! :)

Oh, and at the end of your description include: I am a proud member of the DISboards! People from the boards can find your auctions!!! There was a thread about this a while ago.

Good luck!
