My fil called here at 5:45 this morning!

Today is my last day of vacation- my dh and his Dad and brother are going to a piece of land they own with a hunting camp on it to do some maintenance. My fil wanted to leave at 5:00 but my dh said "No way" and he is driving. DH said between 5:30 and 6:00. So my fil calls here at 5:45 "wondering" where my dh is and waking both myself and my dd. I could KILL him. My husband was po'd. What is wrong with some people? I ought to call his house tomorrow at about 4:00.

My FIL is like that as well. He is extremely prompt. However, he doesn't drive anymore so he is dependent on people. If we tell him that we are taking him somewhere, we don't tell him earlier. For example, when we take him to church the service starts at 530 pm. He lives five minutes from the church.

We used to tell him that we'd get him between 5:00-515. He'd call at 500 asking if we were on our way. Now we tell him we'll be there by 515.

I've gotten early am phone calls as well like this. We always tell him the later end of the time range, so he doesn't get anxious.

He wasn't anxious- he was upset because he wanted to go sooner rather than later. He would NEVER call either of his other son's homes at that hour- for some reason we are "fair game".

What is wrong with some people? I ought to call his house tomorrow at about 4:00.

I say go for it. I have done that to people. My brother and sis in law have a habit of calling here at 10 pm knowing that I have been in bed at least 2 hours since I get up usually at 2am. So on my days off when I know they are sleeping but I am up at 4am (thats sleeping in when you get up at 2 normally), I give them a call just to say hi. It hasn't happened in awhile so I think they got the message.

Kinda rude. Even if someone was late picking me up, I wouldnt call that early. No way. I would at least wait a while before calling that early. Especially since your DH wasn't late yet. Some people.

My MIL does this ALL OF THE TIME....but I do not answer the phone. I mean this can be JUST TO CHAT....I wish with all the years I have not picked up to CHAT with her before 9am she would CATCH ON!!!

Sheesh...knowing her even if I DID tell her...she would STILL call at that horrible hour...basically, old habits die HARD!!!

And as far as calling at an "ungodly" hour(to make her mad)...my MIL would so ANSWER and start talking...she never sleeps...!!!
