:scared1: My FI decided he wants a 2 week Disneymoon. I was thinking a week to 10 days max (We're doing 11 nights at Pop Century in December already). I'm happy, but freaked out! We decided a Disneymoon is more cost effective since we're already there... Hmmm... Good thing we're registering... I can't decide if we should fork over the extra 2000 for a moderate or just relax at a value resort... What you guys think. We're poor, me just graduating and him in the military, we're paying for the wedding ourselves as is... Wedding is early May before all the kiddos get out of school. YAY, I got my FI obsessed with Disney!!!! :dance3: :yay: :bride:

Yay! How fun. Stephanie. Why don't you split your stay between 2 resorts? Are you staying at Shades of Green at all? Maybe stay there a week and a moderate a week? How fun.

I absolutely agree with Laura - splitting your time between 2 resorts will give you the chance to try someplace you've always wanted to stay at :goodvibes

I say go for it!

Michelle:cloud9:

My vote is to go for a more moderate resort. You'll definately be happy with your decision. We usually stay at the CB resort and last weekend we stayed at the ASM. There is definately a difference!

It's your honeymooon...you'll be much more relaxed at a moderate resort. For money reasons...I agree with Laura and Michelle...split it up!

Agreed--if money is a huge issue, then perhaps a value resort would be best, or at least splitting your stay between a value and a moderate. But as it's your honeymoon, I think maybe a moderate resort would be more relaxing and comfortable. The AS resorts are great, but there are kids everywhere, it's loud (especially near the pools, which in turn means the buildings closest to the main building), and the atmosphere is not nearly as romantic as perhaps PO or CBR would be.

2 weeks sounds like a great idea! This way you can enjoy the parks, but also enjoy the resorts (especially if it is hot!). For my honeymoon we had 7 days and that was a good amount of time, but we wished there had been more. You should definitely try to do a fireworks cruise...it was absolutely hands down the most magical memory from our disneymoon. I'm not sure how much it costs (it was part of our platinum package) but it would be worth whatever it costs!

I would stay at Shades of Green. It's a lovely resort and very affordable, (for Disney.)

We decided to stick it out at Shades of Green for a few extra days (I'm more into the Disney theme, since I was raised on Disney hotels), then will be checking into Pop Century for 8 days, followed by 7 nights at Caribbean Beach! :) We're still saving about 1000 bucks :). We want the DDP and I don't think we can do that at SOG???

We're having that same problem as well. I want to go to an all-inclusive resort and he wants to go to Disney for the honeymoon. Please don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Disney!!!:thumbsup2 I just want to go somewhere that I know we probably won't have a chance ever again, like Jamaica or something like that.

But, if your money is a lil tight, spliting up may be the way to go. But, I love the DVC resorts!! It's so relaxing!! My MIL is a DVC member and my first trip was there, so now I'm spoiled!!!:rotfl: :cool1: But, hon, do what you like and just have fun doing it!!!!!

We're actually staying at OKW when we go in July to do some wedding planning with my Grandma's DVC points, she's also getting a 3 BR at SSR so that we can do some wedding stuff there next May. It's been helpful, but she likes to use her points too, lol. I was brougt up on the Poly and CR so I am pretty spoiled too. I've stayed at all levels, if we could afford the Poly that'd be great... but well... military pay isn't all that great sometimes, lol.
