In one of my culinary arts classes this semester, I have to do a flambe demonstration. We have 20 minutes to do it and have to come up with a menu. We have to include a protein, fruit/vegtable, and a starch.
Well, I was bored at work today and decided to try to throw a menu together. I wanted to keep things light and Summery. Here it is:
Coconut Chicken
-Sauteed chicken, flambed with Malibu Rum, with a sauce made from coconut milk, lime juice, cream, seasoning, ect.
Peach Mango Salsa
-Peaches, mangos, strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, cilantro
Macademia Nut Rice
-Rice, macademia nuts, butter, lime juice, seasoning
Garnish plate with fresh coconut shavings and lime wedges.
All the fruits and vegtables will be fresh.
So...would you eat that? I haven't tried it out yet, I just threw it together in like 10 minutes. I would LOVE to hear critiques, if something doesn't sound good, tell me how I could fix it. However, I am not going to stray away from the "tropical" or "coconut" theme. I need to start practicing at home ASAP, so any input would be GREATLY appreciated!
