My Sister-in-law was on her way to work Wed night and was hit head on by a drunk driver. She was life flighted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

She has 2 broken legs (one of which is a compound fracture) a broken nose, both feet and ankles are also broken. Her car also caught on fire at the scene of the accident. Thank God they pulled her out in time.

This is just so senseless! Of course the driver of the other car just had a few scratches. The passenger in the other car is not expected to live. It is truly sad, and all could have been avoided if the guy would not have gotten behind the wheel.

Thanks in advance for your prayers and concern.

Tony

You have my prayers and concern, Tony. I hope your sister-in-law pulls through just fine.

How terrible about that other passenger.

Senseless. :(

I will definitely keep your sister in my prayers.
It is a shame that these things can be avoided and their are individuals don't take the steps (like calling a cab or family member) to avoid them. We also need to pray for the individual who was drinking and driving, may they see reality and never get behind the wheel again when under the influence.

So very sad, Tony. My prayers are with your sister-in-law and the passenger of the other car also. When will people ever learn?!?!? Hoping all goes well.

I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers Tony..((hugs)):(

Prayers and PD coming from just down the road for your SIL and the other passenger, Tony. I am so sorry to hear that happened... truely senseless :( Please keep us updated on how she (and if you hear about the other passenger) is doing {{hugs}}

My prayers are with your SIL and your family. I'm so sorry. Car wrecks are always devistating, but it's particularly sad when it could have been avoided so easily.

Is this the SIL whose kids you sometimes watch on weekends?

May God strengthen all of you.

Fkj2- No, This is my brothers wife.

I also forgot to mention, my brother also has the same kind of muscular dystrophy that I have. His has really progressed and he really has a difficult time. I am really worried about him also. He has not left the hospital since the accident. We are all trying to get him to come home and rest, but he just won't do it.

Being stubborn runs in our family, at any rate. Keep my brother in your thoughts too. It is going to be a very long time before my SIL is able to come home and it is going to take a lot of rehabilitaion for her to even walk again.

Thanks

T.

Prayers are going up and {{{hugs}}} to your family. Please keep us updated.........

That is so horrible. Saying prayers for your SIL & brother

I will keep your SIL & your brother in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh my, Tony! My prayers for your entire family!

I know how important caretakers are to a family, they are the life's breath! How a senseless act can do this to her just makes me so angry!

And your brothers not just being stubborn, he's dedicated to a woman I'm SURE would do the same for him!

God bless...

**********UPDATE************

SIL had to have surgery on her nose this afternoon. Last night she was sitting up in bed drinking water.

On another note: The guy who hit her, has been in this situation before. (Drinking and Driving). Of course nothing was done to him. Hopefully now he will be taken off the road.

T.

Keeping her in my prayers.

My thoughts and prayers for all of you.

Oh no! How awful!!! I hope your sister-in-law makes a full recovery.. I'll say a special prayer for her..

I have lost quite a few family members to the idiocy of drunk drivers and it makes me SO angry I can barely see straight..

When are people going to learn that drinking and driving don't mix????????????

Oh, Tony! How senseless.

Of course you have my prayers.
