We stayed offsite last week for 2 nights before checking into Saratoga Springs for a week. We didn't rent a car and decided to try Uber.

We used the service several times and it was phenomenal! Our drivers were all very nice, prompt and the vehicles were very clean. The prices were really good too. We even scheduled a pick up with one of the drivers to take us to our onsite resort.

We are now considering staying offsite next trip and driving ourselves to the parks and using Uber sometimes. Great experience!!

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I use Uber frequently when I travel for work and it's always been my understanding that Uber drivers aren't technically supposed to schedule pick-ups. Uber is exclusively an on-demand service, allowing the drivers closest to you to accept your fare at the time you place the request when you need it. When you scheduled it, did the driver charge you a flat rate or did you still pay through the app? I'm guessing the driver picked you up, waited until you were in the car, had you place the request through the app, and then he immediately accepted the fare? Just curious.

He gave us the option of requesting and paying through the app or a flat fee. Our fee was $13 the day before to go to Animal Kingdom and he said our resort was closer so it would be less than $13. We chose to just pay cash and gave him $25. He was awesome and even helped with our bags.

I see. It's worth noting for anyone else considering the service that this scenario is actually against Uber policy, especially if you pay flat fee and the route isn't tracked by Uber and Uber isn't getting a cut of the fare. It obviously worked out fine for you, but pre-arranged or flat rides aren't typical or permitted.
