Being an annual passholder to Disneyland, I'm there often. Much too often, probably. But every single time I go you won't find me without a smile on my face from ear to ear. I'm huge on giving praise to those who make the magic happen. I have not once found myself giving negative feedback to the Disney team, but instead stopping by City Hall to fill out positive feedback about Cast Members.
Somewhat of a funny story to tell: Before I enlisted into the military, my best friend Roxie (who was also a pass holder) and I embarked on yet another adventure to Disneyland. We were discussing how much effort each and every Cast Member puts in toward making Disneyland truly the happiest place on earth. I then pointed out the clean-up crew that go around the park and pick up stray trash, tidy the restrooms, etc. I commented on how they probably aren't thanked as much as ride operators, characters, musicians, etc. for an enjoyable Disney experience.
We decided that we'd go up to the first Cast Member we saw cleaning up the park and thank them for making the park a clean and pleasurable experience. Just minutes later, we spotted one. He was a fairly young fellow who was just sweeping up some left-behind trash. I approached him and had said, "Excuse me, sir. I know you're busy, but I'd just like to thank you for making the park clean. It really does make my time here at Disneyland that much more enjoyable." He looked at me, somewhat confused, and of course thanked me. We could tell he probably thought we were some punk kids just trying to get a rise out of him or something, so we continued to assure him that his hard work really does show throughout the entire park.
I don't think I've ever seen a Cast Member smile so wide and so sincerely.
So this goes out to EVERY Cast Member: thank you. And I mean a BIG thank you! You are all creating magic every single day, and it does not go without apprecation!
