Mucho excitement in La Maison Allie yesterday morning. Kindly DHL man arrives with a big cardboard envelope, with the immortal words "Walt Disney World, Lake Buena Vista" printed in the corner. Practically shove kindly DHL mans electronic "signing thingy" back at him and knocking the wind out of him in the haste to rip open said package. DHL man beats a very hasty retreat, obviously not familiar with women in dressing gowns (twas but 8am) using their teeth to open pesky unyeilding cardboard envelopes, sealed with what appeared to be a ton of superglue.

On eventually gaining access to the contents I am not disappointed. Ah, it was as I suspected, four gleaming, shiny plastic tickets....tickets to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party on December 14th. We have two Mickeys, one Goofy one Donald. DD is mortified that her kids ticket is Donald. Doesnt Mr Disney KNOW that she wanted Mickey??? Still, she is calmed when I tell her she can have them ALL for her scrapbook after the party!!

In the letter that accompanies the tickets, there is a tantilising mention of a "Very Merry Christmas Dinner" available at Liberty Tree Tavern. Well, I must book that I think. Only 60 or so days until I can start booking some PSs. However, I am slightly suspicious that maybe, JUST maybe, you can book this earlier than 90 days??

I quickly try and find out if this is the case, and its Miffy2003 (Karen) to the rescue!! She is going the same time as us, and confirms they HAVE their PS for LTT already!! Lightening speed call to WDW-DINE. OOOOh, thats changed!! Lots of options...had to key in my phone number and there was lots of nosey questions from the automated operator...press 1 if you have visited WDW more than 4 times... Come on come on you stupid machine I NEED to talk to someone here, its an EMERGENCY .

Eventually get through to nice chap with a very heavy Southern American accent who cant understand one word I say After some perserverance (me talking V-e-r-y v-e-r-y Sllllooooooowwwwllly) he manages to ascertain my request. Again, get the Spanish Inquisition...where am I staying, how many times been to WDW, do I have a package??? I just want a flippin PS for LTT . Eventually, after several momentously long pauses where I think I have been cut off, (but havent) I get a PS! 6.30pm...perfect!! Have to leave a Credit Card Number (which expires before December, but they didnt seem to care!) and we are all booked!! Woo-Hoo...my very first PS of the trip! So excited...please excuse my waffle, but I had to share with people who can APPRECIATE my excitement!! Thanks again, Karen for the heads up on this! OOOh, and CONGRATS on your visit from the mysterious Tag Fairy!!

Allie,

You are too funny! I have a brilliant vision in my head of you attacking the DHL man in your dressing gown in your haste to get your hands on those tickets!!!:rotfl: (It is the same in my house too though!!)

That automated service is a nightmare, especially when it is an emergency LOL!!!!! It's like "just shut up and let me book my PS, people"!!!

Thank you for posting this, I am now merrily chuckling away to myself and HURRAY you have a PS for LTT. Flank steak and turkey here you come!!

Karen

I too feel your excitement - I was the same the day the DHL man arrived and I too attacked him in my dressing gown. They must be used to it I'm sure ;) You can imagine them at the depot: oh no, another Disney envelope - who's turn is it :p We too have a PS booked for the Liberty Tree Tavern - it's going to be a fantastic night. Congrats!!

Hi Allie

When did you purchase your tickets for mickeys very merry christmas party? Just want to know when i will need to purchase mine next year. Also how much is the liberty dinner and what do you get?

Thanks

Sam

Hi Sam

I ordered my tickets online at the main WDW website (go to reservations and tickets). You will need to register at another website first before you can order your tickets (I think its go.com, but I will find the exact addy for you if you need it). It cost $10 to them to be shipped to the UK. Great service and they arrived by DHL in 3 days!! I ordered mine last week, but I think they went on sale at the beginnning of June.

Alternatively, you can call Disney Central Reservations on 001-407-934-7639. This way you can request either standard shipping at $3 or arrange to collect them on arrival (at your WDW hotel or at Guest Services anywhere on Disney Property).

The Merry Very Dinner at LTT costs $23.99 this year. I think its pretty much standard fare for LTT which is Christmassy anyway!! Turkey, stuffing, gravy etc. I know all the characters are in "santa" gear but not sure if anything else is scheduled! Read my trip report when we get home and I will do a review!!

Hope that helps.

Allie
