Can I use it? My sis stayed in a room that I reserved last year.
Any luck using a pin under those circumstances? That is, the email said "the Smith family" but came to my email ie cjones@xxx.com.

I had an AP PIN come to my email. I do have an AP. However, the name on the email was my friend's. Even though I have an AP I was not permitted to use the PIN.

The best thing to do is to call and ask. I would not mention that it is in your sister's name. Just say you got a PIN and see if they will apply it. If they give you grief I would just persist that it came to your email, you should be able to use it. Sometimes that is successful...

Probably not. I ordered a DVD for my parents who traveled with us last fall for DD#1's 1st trip to disney. They are NOT disney people and only came to see DD's reaction to WDW. Well of course they sent them a 40% off pin for the time we have a package booked (May 2010). It is in their last name - and to their address but MY email address. They wouldn't use me use it - saying that it has to be used by someone living at that address. We are moving soon and might move in there for a week or two so I tried that approach but they said that the person booking has to be the same person the email was sent to. I tried more than 1 CM and they were all very helpful and tried to get me the discount but after 20-30 mins of back and forth and being put on hold it was a no go.

if the PIN has another's name, and YOUR address and tel number, then you can use it. But you have to call Disney.

Hey, OP here...the aggravating thing is that my sis has gotten at least five pin codes at my email since she went with me, and I have gotten....none.
I guess I will call and try to book with her code but then I will WORRY that when I get there, they will tell me so sad, too bad!

that won't happen. Once the reservation is made, it's made. As I said previously, it may not be her PIN. It could be a mistake regarding the name--which happens frequently. Call Disney and find out if the address and phone number attached to the PIN are yours. They will correct the error at that time. Happy planning.

OP - I feel your pain. I got 2 PINS recently at my email in my father's name that WDW will not let me use. It is very frustrating. :sad2:

I recently got a pin, my email, my Mom's name. I spoke to one CM who said I could use but I was not ready to book. I called back when ready and was told I could not use it unless she was travelling with us. I was not happy at all and called back to enquire why she was getting emails at my address. Well that CM checked with customer service and said I could you the pin. I was very happy started to book and got cut off. :scared1: Called again hoping for the best and was told that the body of the email was adressed to the 'Anderson' family and I could use it. When he went into my account both my name and my Mom's (plus DS and DH) were all attached to the account. :woohoo:

I'm so glad I didn't just take the 2nd CM's word and called again. I would try, the worst they can say is no, and then I would try again.
