So of course I went to the DIS board to find out what time is the earliest we can get into the port. I know I saw many threads on this matter, but went back 13 pages without finding any. Could someone tell me what time we can get in? We have our own car so shuttles ect are not an issue. THANKS!

Mary unless they have changed it, the earliest checkin time is 10:30. Mike

I want to be first in line too!!:Pinkbounc We're planning on being there at 10:25! ;)

I just want to let you know that no matter HOW early you get there, chances are you will not be the first to board. DCL pre-boards disabled passengers, then category 1-2-3 guests.

Thanks ducklite! I thought I had read something like that before and meant to mention it. Maybe I should say that I plan to be the first in line after the previously mentioned! ;)

I did explain to DS that even being first in line did not mean we would be able to be the first on the ship. That's fine with him! Also I am not worried about "checking in" because I can always go and do that once we are on line. I DO worry about not being able to enter the port building. I do not want to stand in the sun for an hour before being let in the building.
Thanks for all who responded!

You might not be first to board, but they usually pick someone (kids) from near the front of the line to lead the countdown to get on the ship. This was a huge highlight for my daughter and she got a nice certificate and a wonderful memory.

the most recent being 8/31/02 . We were on the first shuttle from the Radisson and we were in the port by 10:05AM. There were no lines for checkin open yet so we just took our place at the front of the line and waited. My kids got picked last year to do the countdown but not this year - they picked 4 girls from the concierge waiting area.

As long as I am within the first hundred to board I will be fine. We normally get to Port around 10:30 and on our last 3 cruises could have been first in line but looked around instead. Now I am feeling the pressure of being #1.:p I am going to take it easy this time and not rush to get to Port so early. O.K we'll probably be there by 10:40:D I know I won't be able to stand it!!!! and will break a leg or two to make it to Port early.

GOOD LUCK MARY, HOPE YOU ARE 1ST IN LINE:Pinkbounc

Hey Imgoingtodisney, maybe we will beat you on November 30th! We have a rental car, and will be coming straight from Orlando that morning.... wanna make a bet? haha

I thought we weren't supposed to get to the port to check in until 1pm. What time do they actually let you on the ship?

Poopie ...Boarding "offically" starts at 12:30, but often begins sooner depending on how long it takes the ship to clear customs. Very often it begins at 12:00. By then there are a LOT of people who have "checked in" and are waiting on the boarding line.

Embarkation was 12 noon (1 hour earlier than last year). We were on the ship by 11:50 or so. It was great!
