My DS went to the mail box yesterday and got two birthday cards; one from his dentist, one from the orthodontist. His grandmother forgot again. Why it should be notable that she would forget is beyond me. She hasn't remembered in six years although she remembers every other grand child. He takes it well however.

He's a better person than most if he takes it in stride. (you must have raised him well).

Belated happy birthday to him!

I would call her nad tell her not to bother sending the other kids cards if she can't send your other son one. How sad.

BTW my kids 'grandparents' have NEVER recognized their birthdays EVER.

Actually that was Christmas a few years ago. She did not give the older boys anything for Christmas because the year before they did not write thank yo notes to thank her for the presents from the previous year. Now, I am all for writing thank you notes but when we gave her a Christmas gift, she thanked us verbally and so when the boys received their Christmas gift, they thanked her verbally as well. That year she only bought a gift for the youngest. I took the gift to the New Years Eve party where we all were and returned it to my FIL. I told him that they obviously needed it more than DS did, and if they couldn't remember all of their grandchildren at Christmas, don't remember any. At this point, I too look at the bright side. When she is unable to care for herself, she won't be turning to me.
