Callum meets Prince Charles and Camilla tomorrow, they're coming to town to open Charles new Duchy Originals factory (which my brother did all the electrics for, so he gets to meet them too!).
Good job Callums new school jumpers came through this am as his others had identical holes in! :teeth:

apparently he's had his own eggs flown in to make the egg and cress sandwiches, and they have to be cut into finger peices! :rotfl2:

and he's bringing his own honey for his tea!

... and he'll probably think my town is very patriotic - there's St Georges cross flags EVERYWHERE! :rotfl2:

Some years ago the Queen visited where my sister worked. The place was all tarted up and the 'executive loo' was redecorated - and she didn't even need to go. Hope Callum has a memorable day. Can't you tag along

What great news for him Carol, I met Prince Charles years ago when he came to our school. I hope he has a wonderful day :thumbsup2

Excellent news Carol ~ Hope your DS has a wonderful time :)

Thats great Carol, lets us know how he gets on :)

Well, the school took them to the grounds of the castle around 9:30, Charles arrived shortly after and it was so packed that Callum and his best friend Connor said 'We only saw his ears' :rotfl2:
Charles milled around for a good couple of hours and then went to a private buffet in the town hall. 4 children from Calls class went with them but unfortunately he was at the back of the crowd and didn't get picked.
He was very disappointed.

Shame Callum didn't get picked. At least he can say he saw the ears of Prince Charles.

About as bad as us when the Queen came to town. Got front row view as I accompanied some children from the local school, armed with camera and flags waving, she got out of the car, didn't look back at us and walked off!

I got too close for comfort when I saw the Queen. During the jubilee she visited the National Ice Centre in Nottingham to see a gala that they put on...we won tickets but we were sat miles away from the Queen.

After the show though there were loads of barriers where her car would be driving her away from the venue and we got out pretty quick so got front row spots at the barriers. As you can imagine it got pretty crowded when more and more people found out and we were pretty squashed at the front but we weren't gonna budge for anything.

As the car drove past there was a rush on the barriers and my foot slipped underneath....the queens car drove over my toes....was painful but a bizarre claim to fame that im rather proud of!

What a shame he didnt get picked! You didnt need to bother buying him a new jumper afterall!

:rotfl2: I wish Jen, unfortunately the old jumper had definately seen better days! They had been on order for 3 weeks anyway, well before we'd learnt of the royal visit

Looks like they saw the best bits :teeth: You can always come up to our neck of the woods as they frequently go on walkabout in Ballater.
