I finally tried on my dress for the first time last night! After ordering it 10 months ago, I still love it :goodvibes It needs to be altered A LOT! I swear they order it way too big for you so they can charge you more for alterations. I also picked out the most boring, plain veil I could find. My mom might be adding some hidden mickeys to it.

I am still not sure what to do about the train. I am deciding if I should get it completely removed or just bustle it. I just keep having this image if it getting snagged on the Boardwalk  Any suggestions?

Here are some pics :) Ignore the face I'm making in the last one!

OOOHHH!! You look beautiful! You can see by your smile how happy you are to be in the dress! Good for you!

I love your dress. You look beautiful. I would keep the train. I had a train on my dress and had a loop put on the end. I just put the loop over my wrist when I wanted the train up. It looked pretty and was great for dancing. The train never got in the way!

Jen, that dress looks amazing on you! You look so beautiful!

I think a bustle on the dress would be fine, the train isn't tooooo long.

Just beautiful!!:bride:

just beautiful!! :bride:

i love the lace detail at the top and the different shade of fabric around the waist. i agree w/ the other posters...keep the train, get it bustled, and you should be good to go!! thanks for sharing your pics with us. :woohoo:

Jen, that's a gorgeous dress and you look absolutely stunning in it!! :) I agree with the others, keep the train. I had a 6 ft. cathedral veil and that got a little snagged when I was walking on the boardwalk, but that was because it was blowing into the bushes... you shouldn't have any problems with yours. You must be getting so excited now!! :goodvibes I am and I already had my wedding. ;)

Beautiful dress! It looks gorgeous on you!

I wouldn't worry about the train. I know they will provide a CM to help with your train before the ceremony if you need help. They did this for me and every other DFTW I have been to. They even helped bustle me!

I am so glad you found such a perfect dress- it's amazing on you! It's so hard to find the right dress, but you definitely found the perfect one!

I love the dress:love: and it looks perfect on you.

Im with everyone else-- keep the train. I kept my train and didnt even go for a bustle (considering we werent having a huge to-do)... and yes, my train got dirty-- but its your wedding day and you only live once-- and hopefully only wear it once!! So I say keep it!

looks so good! I love it! my veil was plain with a row of rhinestones around the edge, but i liked it that way b/c i didn't want it to "busy" and take away from the dress. hidden mickeys would be cute! what color are you BM dresses?

Oh Jen! You are the CUTEST in that dress. Just absolutely beautiful...it looks amazing.

I think you should keep the train too :thumbsup2 I asked the seamstress to put a custom loop in mine. She opened up a tiny slit in the dress and sewed it underneath, so when I went to walk I'd pull the loop through and hold the train up...and it could slide back through and be concealed when I went down the aisle. It worked really well. I had a bustle too, but I found the bustle to be annoying and used the loop much more.

I love your veil too. Oh you must be SO excited!

Thanks for all your sweet coments everyone! Ok, you have all persuaded me to keep the train. I guess your wedding day is the only time you can wear a train. I'm just soooo worried about getting it caught. I am the clumsiest person ever :rolleyes1

lwhat color are you BM dresses?

Peach fizz, doesn't it sound like a drink? My wedding colors are bright orange and peach.

Wow. Your dress is beautiful and you look so happy. I love the sash. It makes the dress.

I like the loop ideas others have mentioned and I think you should keep the train.

Good luck and let us know what you decide!

   You look soooo pretty! I love the sash! Was this just when your dress came in, or was this an actual fitting? I'm trying to figure out how far in advance to set up a 'final' fitting. Congrats on finding your PERFECT pretty princess dress!!!

I'm trying to beat the whole alteration system with mine and I ordered it one size smaller than what fit me when I tried it on. Since I'm losing weight, I figured it was a 'safe' bet and then maybe I won't have to pay for alterations. Here's hoping! haha If not, she said they can adjust it 2 sizes in either direction ;)

You look so happy and absolutely beautiful. It's your dress and your wedding so do what you like. I personally am keeping my train for the ceremony and pictures and will have it bustled for the remainder of the wedding day. A french bustle would be very fitting for that dress. There would be a pouf gathered at the top and the rest hangs below. It may add some additional style to your dress. Here's a google pic of a french bustle: http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dd29b3127cce97f0b76fd89700000016109DZNGLhx4

Jenny

Oh! CONGRATULATIONS! :cheer2:
