Great, to access my account online, Bank One asks for my SS# which I don't want to give out over the internet!

I didn't need my SS# with my Discover Card account access online.

Anyway around this? Should I call them?

I would call them, but, just for the record, if they pulled your credit report, they have the ss#.

If they only need it to access the internet then I guess you could just not use the net for them.

I am pretty sure that Bank one just requires that. I did notice that when I signed up for Disney internet access it linked my SW casd and now both accounts pop up.

They will only need it the one time, to set up your online account. They are just making sure it is YOU setting up the online access. After it is set up you will only need your username and password to access the account.

Ok, so I don't have to type in my SS every time then? I really want to access the account online to keep track of daily expenses.

Thank for the replies.

Why worry about your SS#??? Do you know how many ways someone could easily find your SS# on the net? Also, remember ALL your financial transactions, bank accounts, medical history, etc. can all be accessed via the net since all that data is sitting on a server somewhere. No need to get panicked, it's the world we live in and you can't control your privacy.

If you make sure the little lock icon at the bottom of the browser is locked, you'll be fine. You can also tell when you are viewing a secure site by the url 'https://'

Also, remeber to log out when you are done everytime you use a site like that with your personal info on it.

This is truly annoying!

I finally accessed my Disney account online last night and now today, I can't get logged on. I have to "reset" my info by entering my SS# again.

Usually just closing the browser window does that for you, also, most sites time out after a short amount of time. Just do not use auto logon, which some (not many) have.
