Going to WDW this fall, been many times and always planning. Going as a group of 11, my sisters family, our family, and my parents. We are in a villa with my parents (6 people) and my sister is in another room (5 people). I am using My Disney Experience for the first time, I have our reservation linked and my family and my parents set up for me to manage but I can't get an understanding about how my sister can use her own account but we plan together....is that possible? I have sent her an invite but next to her name it says "you manage this account". I would prefer that she sets up an account for her and her family and then we see each other but each manage our own families. Is that possible, does that make sense?

Sounds like she hasn't accepted your invite yet. Once she does, she'll manage her account, but you'll both be able to view eachother's reservations...

I'm in a similar boat as you. 2 reservatiosns, 2 rooms, 2 sets of accounts. Once she accepts, you should be fine.

Just make sure that both of you allow each other to plan and share in MDE by checking : this person commonly travels with me. If you are getting Memory Maker or Photopass, there's an option to allow that be shared as well.

I also have a question regarding this. My husband and I are going this fall with my daughter and her husband. I have linked my MDE account with my daughter's account and she has accepted.

I can see their hotel reservation. However, when I click on tickets, I can only see mine and my husbands (under my account) and my daughters.

How do I get to see my daughter's husband's ticket? He is listed under her account.

I hope I didn't make this too difficult to understand what I am asking.:confused3

Thanks!

You need to add him using the 'Invite Through a Mutual Friend' tab after you click on 'Add a Guest'. On the 'Invite Through a Mutual Friend' tab, you would select your Daughter in the 'mutual friend' drop list and then a list of her family & friends will be displayed. Select her husband and click 'Done'. She will have to accept the invite since she controls his profile.

What is the advantages\disadvantages as to who "controls" a profile or does it matter? I'm still having a bit of trouble wrapping my head around the concept. For instance I set up my 16 year old daughters profile then I invited her to "invite to plan and share" after she accepts what changes?

She will end up with her own MDE account. She will have her own sign on and can make/modify plans for herself and for her connected family & friends.

Thanks Michael...obviously you don't know my daughter but in general is that good, bad, or indifferent? Does the rest of my family become connected to her or will she only be connected to me?

If she wanted to separate from you while in the parks, it will allow her to manage her FP+ selections. She could also use a FP+ kiosk if she didn't have her own account.

Only you, unless additional steps are taken. If you do go that route with her own account, she could use the 'Invite Through a Mutual Friend' tab to connect with the managed profiles that you control.

I don't think there's a real benefit until she's old enough to travel on her own.

Thanks Michael, the reason I invited her is that I wanted her to be able to use the app to see what was going on with the trip. She will be excited about that. Is there anyway to invite people to look but not touch? Also can I retract an invite?

The only thing that those you've connected with can make/modify are FP+ selections that they are part of.

You can delete connected friends at any time.
