We are saying 1/27-2/1 (5 nights) at AS Music. We are doing 4 day base (MYW) tickets with dining.

2 adults
1- 5yr old
Infant

I called and applied the Disney Visa Code and was refunded $73. (Plus we got the hopper and water parks and more.) It went from like $1603 to $1525.

Why does my discount seem so tiny compared to others? I gave them the Disney Visa Code... :confused3

My TA explained that the discount was on the tickets primarily, not the room. Your party of 3 paying customers is a lot smaller maybe than most (I ahve 6 in my group).

I think it has to do with you not having the hoppers originally. Your reduction was probably what you're getting off the room since you hadn't paid extra already for the ticket upgrades. It should be about 13-15% per night from what I can see.

OP, I ran your dates and resort and options through the WDW website and came up with a price of $1461.43. That should be your price. Try it yourself on their website, get the price, and call CRO and tell them, "I'm confused. When I checked the price online, it's not the price I was quoted when I called. I want this price. Can you help me?" They might have increased a day to your tickets or something. Make sure you're booked with the right code, for 4 day base tickets, with dining. Good luck!

The difference may be travel insurance as well. I don't know if the original poster had travel insurance before or not...but, that would be something to check on as well.

As others have posted....the discount is really based on the upgrade from base ticket to the hopper, waterparks, and more ticket. The room discount is only about 15%. On a Value Room during Value Season, rack rate is only $82 per night....so, you are basically saving about $12 per night on the room plus tax and getting the ticket upgrade for free.

We decided to stick with our AAA room-only rate of 20% off....which is $16 per night for our room at All Star Sports in early February. The reasons being that we didn't want to switch to another resort, we had no use for the hopper or the waterpark tickets, and I can get base tickets from Undercover Tourist (using the Mousesavers.com newsletter link) for about $14 cheaper per ticket than purchasing from Disney.

Speed :teleport:

speedyf, have you used "Undercover Tourist" before? I keep looking at that site along with Maple Leaf but I just can't convince myself not to buy from the Disney site.

I should add that we do not have travel insurance and we have a preferred room.

I came up with the original price of $1605.53. Claire...Help, where did you find that?

Is there anywhere to put a code to find out the new price?

For 2 adults, a 5-year old, and infant at the ASMu, Preferred room, 1/27-2/1, with Dining and 4-day PH/WF tickets, the discounted package price comes to $1532.03. That's with no insurance. :)

Brooke,
Your current price is correct but this is with just a base 4 day ticket. If you price out your package with hoppers,w/p and more your price would be 1909.10. Now subtract that from the current discount price for your package (1532.03) and the savings is 377.07.:goodvibes
You need to compare apples to apples to get the type of discount you were expecting.
Your refund of 73.50 is correct. :wizard:
Have a great trip.

If someone already had park hoppers and applied the code, they'd be saving close to $50 per person plus a small room discount. If they had the park hoppers and water park and more options, they would be saving close to $100 per person plus the room discount. Since you already booked with a base ticket, you are only saving the room portion of the discount with the code, but getting the upgraded tickets as well. $73 over 5 nights , when you figure in the taxes , brings you down to a room rate of $69 per night instead of $82, so i think your price looks right.

Since the discount is a percentage, the more money you spend, the more money you save.

If you pretend you were already paying for the upgraded tickets, your savings would be $373 instead! If that makes you feel better.

Sorry, I did not test it with a preferred room category, just standard.

When I just now priced it with preferred room, it is $1532.03. Downgrading to a standard room saves the additional $70.60.

If you want to test different packages, go to the Disney website and click the box where it says, "More Play For Less Pay!" That is how you access the package upgrade to free park-hopping and free WPF&M.
