We ate alot of our meals at sit down restaurants. Let me know if you have any questions.

Kona Cafe: Dinner. This used to be a favorite for me but since they took my favorite vegetable spring rolls off the entree menu it was a challange to find something I could eat (I'm a vegetarian, no meat but I do eat dairy and eggs when they're well hidden)The only dish that was vegetarian was the Pan Asian Pasta , no thanks, if I eat that many carbs there better be whip cream on top. I got the Kona salad, which was very good, except the cheese was a little too much for me. DH did get the Pan Asian Pasta with shrimp and seafood bisque and loved it. We also spilt a pressed pot, which alone is worth coming here. Great service and relaxing atmosphere. B for me; A for DH.

Concourse Steak House: Breakfast. YUM, YUM, YUM. This was our first time here but it won't be our last. I got the challah french toast with banannas and pecans (they're good carbs, right?) DH got the Steak House Platter and also said it was outstanding. Great service and cool atmosphere. A+ for me and DH.

Colombia Harbor House: Lunch. I had the Lighthouse Sandwich which had hummus, tomato and brocolli slaw. Very good. DH had the clam chowder (still mourning the loss of the bread bowl) and the Anchors Aweigh Sandwich (tuna) and really enjoyed them. We of course sat upstairs which made it feel like we were in a sit down restaraunt. Very good value and great food. B from me and DH.

Chefs de France: Lunch. WOW! I really love this place. Our server was from Nice and told us everything about it, she was as cute as a button. I had the Lasagna, which was heaven in tomato sauce. It was so delicate and fresh. DH had the french menu but substituted the desert. We both had the warm upside down spiced apple tart with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. I would've licked the bowl (these carbs can't count, it was just too darn good) We had a great seat and watched the show where the guy balanced on a stack of chairs. A++++++++++ for me and DH.

Grand Floridian Cafe: Dinner. Again I was challanged here. The only Vegetarian dish they had was seared Tofu in Ginger Sauce. Well, I loathe ginger and the thought of plain Tofu really didn't do much for me. I asked our server if I could get a veggie burger (I knew they serve them for lunch) and he agreed. The veggie burger was fine, nothing special. DH got the Cafe Signature Sandwich (a BLT with Turkey) and said it was ok. We also had white wine which was very good. The thing that urked me about this place was our original server. I say original because when we got there the restaraunt was fairly empty. There were 8 servers fighting to wait on us. Our server introduced himself and said he would be our server tonight. After he brought out our entree he hopped over to a table with 5 people that had just been seated across from us. After we finished our main course another girl took over. It appeared that he thought he would have a better shot at a larger tip with the bigger party and abandoned us. C for me and DH

Plaza Restaurant: Dinner. We really enjoy this place. I got the fresh vegetable sandwich and the sugar free chocolate/vanilla swirl shake (see I am watching those carbs) Both were wonderful. DH had the reuben and potato leek soup. Both were great. A for me and DH.

We also had breakfasts at Captain Cook's a couple of times.

Sorry so long, I have more but I'm getting a headache. :D

Thanks, treehugger! It sounds like you and your DH had the exact same lunch at Columbia Harbor that we did! I could go for a Lighthouse Sandwich right now...

Thanks for the reviews, TreeHugger!
Sorry you were so challenged finding good vegitarian choices.

thanks for sharing! look forward to reading the rest when you get a chance =)

Thanks for sharing. Did you have a sticky Mickey at the concourse??? The banana french toast sounds incredible. Did you try the Tonga Toast at Kona??? Its a favorite of ours.I love hummus, is the sandwich good at Columbia House??? Your post sounds too too good. I think I gained weight just reading it. And I think your right carbs in WDW don't count.

Thanks Treehugger - We love sitting upstairs at CH - It's a nice little break.

TwingleMum, Unfortunately, I did not try a Sticky Mickey, though I was tempted, I was kind of banking my carbs :) I knew I wanted to get a Dole Whip at MK that day. My post below addresses the great Tonga Toast vs. Bananna French Toast controversy!

OK, here are some more highlights.

Kona Cafe: Breakfast. I have been dreaming of Tonga Toast now for 2 months. This stuff is sooo decadent! As stated in an earlier post we went to the Concourse Steak House and I had incredible Banana French Toast. I was glad we ate there first. I am sorry to report that the French Toast has over taken Tonga Toast in my book. Don't get me wrong, I still love Tonga Toast, but believe or not it was too much for me to enjoy. The french toast had a much less sweet taste and the fruit and nuts were just right without being overpowering. DH loved his Tonga Toast so much I think I spotted a tear in his eye. I think he kept saying "This stuff should be illegal" hard to tell though as his mouth was always full. A for me. A ++++ for DH.

Mama Melrose: Dinner. This is always a must do for us. We like the servers here and it has alot of vegetarian selections for me. I had the Vegetarian Minestrone and Four Cheese Flat Bread. Excellent as always. DH had the Oak Grilled Salmon and Cesear Salad and also gave high marks. We also had two glasses of wine. A for me and DH.

We also had snacks at various places.

Starring Rolls Bakery. This was the first time here since the renovation. The layout is kind of weird but hey I had many carbs to consume so what the heck. First off two things in life really annoy me. !. A bad book 2. Wasted Carbs. I was almost drolling at the display case. They had many of the small bite size desserts. I got the flourless chocolate cake, ugh. This was like fudge, too rich and not much taste, IMO. Took one bite and donated the carbs to my DH. Second disappointment was the chocolate frosted angel food cake. The presentation was great, a small bundt style angel food cake with chocolate drizzled on top. I don't know if it was because the cake was kept very cold or what but again not carb nirvana. Tried to give it to DH but he was just coming down off the sugar high from the chocolate cake. C for me and DH.

Dole Whip. What can I say? Do you think I can pick up one of those machines on EBAY?

French Bakery. Okay, I think Disney should attach it's next resort to this place. I had the chocolate eclair, WOW. the peach tart OMG. DH had a Napoleon and that's all. Geez, what's wrong with him? Anyway, he loved it. A for me and DH.

Other honorable mentions.

Tropical Smoothy from Auntie Gravity's at MK. YUM!
Banana Bread Pudding from Main Street Bakey. YUM!
Chocolate Croissant from Captain Cooks. Killer!
Krispy Kreme Donut from Kona Island. Love it!

And the best part? I actually lost weight. Yes, it is true. I went for my jog around the Poly in the morning (don't tell my orthopaedic surgeon) and we walked alot in the parks. The heck with Sugar Busters I want to go on the Disney Diet it's much more fun!

When did they do away with the bread bowl at Harbor house ! Nooooooooooo:eek:   I was so looking forward to one.

Thanks for the great reviews. You mentioned a lot of my favorites - Dole Whip, Chefs de France, eating upstairs at CHH, the French bakery, and Kona Cafe. :D
