We arrived late in the afternoon on Sunday the 8th. There was me-47 and Joe 41.
I made PS the first week of January. Booked our restaurants based on what I read on these boards.
Sunday we had a reservation for O'Hana's for 6:20. We arrived at 6:00 and requested a window seat so we can see wishes. Our table was ready at 6:20 and we did get a window seat. The view was amazing and the food WOW! The chicken wings they put on the table as appitizers was soo good we requested more which were promptly bought to our table. The waiter was very attentive and our drinks were quickly replaced with new ones as were needed.
We parked in the Magic Kingdom lot and took the shuttle to the Ticket Center. Parking didnt cost anything since the parks were closing at 7 that night. We got off the shuttle and asked the driver how to get to O'hana and he directed us to walk. (ARGHH, it was half an hour walk at that. took a long time. We could have taken the resort monorail which woulda been faster and easier.) This place was awesome and we would do it again.
Monday morning we had a 8:45 reservation for Chef Mickeys. We bought 2 breafast vouchers off e-bay for 20.00 each. THese vouchers include tip and tax. Very easy to use. When the waiter brings your bill just sign your voucher and put in in the folder.. THats all. We arrived at 8:30 and were taken to the area to have our pictures taken then off to our table. I dont know if its because we are two adults but they took us all the way to the back to a seperate room. I did not like being in that room at all.
We were given orange juice and a pot of coffee on arrival and we helped ourselves to the all you can eat buffet. The food was good. But our waiter never came back to see if we needed more orange juice or coffee, creamer. nothing. We were there for breakfast for an hour and saw Chip and Dale. Thats all. There was a family there celebrating a childs 10th birthday. They said they were there for 1 1/2 hours. THe child ate and waited for his birthday celebration. He left to go to the bathroom and the waitress came over and sang happy birthday while he was in there. I think they should have waited til he came back. (especially since they were waiting so long) I also thought when you are celebrating a special day the characters are there for the singing. They were not..only the waitress. For 20.00 a person I felt this was my rip-off meal. It was the only bad experience we had all week. THe food was good just not worth the 20.00. I booked this based on a character meal. I think if we were placed on the main floor it would have been different. I like watching the characters interact with the children around us. We didnt have that.
Tuesday we did the Storybook Princess Breakfast in Norway. Ahh that was a blast. If you have a little one arrive first and ask if your daughter can be Princess of the day. A little girl about 7 had that honor and she got to open the place with a magic wand = said some magic words and opened the door to see Snow WHite. The girls who were in custumes were behind her. (there were a lot of little girls in princess costumes and there were a lot not too. (so dont stress about that) The Princess of the day gets a special seat by the door where the princesses come out. It has to be magical for that little girl. After the Princess of the day goes in the host reads your name (first come first serve) Everyone that has a PS do get in. Again we had 2 breakfast vouchers. Our server was fabulous. Replenished our skillet as needed. Filled our juice and coffee as quick as we empitied them. THe voucher pays a 15% tip. We included more to make it a 20% tip. SHe was great.
We had a lot of Q & C vouchers. This is where we used them.
We paid 15.00 each for these vouchers off ebay. ( using hotwiresavings you can get these vouchers for 11.50 pp)
Pepper Mill Market. Ceaser salad, Rib eye steak, baked potato, grilled veggies, Choc mouse pie and a strwberry shortcake. Each of us had a soda (free refills) and I had a coffee. Our dinners had to be at least 25.00- 30.00 so as you can see we did save considerably in here. We ate at the Pepper Market 2 times.
THe second time Joe has the Ceaser Salad, rotisserrie Chicken, Frnech Fries, chocalate fudge cake and soda. I had a ceaser salad, Chicken Quisidillas, grilled veggies, carrot cake soda and a coffee. Again this dinner was at least 25. each so we made out. We got a paper that we take to the different stations and get stamped as we ordered food. THe vouchers include tip and tax but our waiter was awesome so we included more to make up the difference. (which we handed directly to him as he said the tips are divided at the end of the night.
We also ate at the Beaches & Cream with vouchers. We had the Grilled Prime Rib sandwhiches with cheese, french fries. soda (free refills) Joe had a banana split and I had the Frozen Sunshine. Joe's dinner was about 20. mine was about 18.00 So the savings was nice. But it was nicer to have it all prepaid.
We also had the Kingdom Lunch voucher which we used for Rainforest Cafe and CInderellas Castle. These vouchers were 30.00 each off ebay.
We ate at Cinderellas Castle for Lunch on Valentines day. We arrived at 2:00 for a 2:30 PS. THere were filled and were not taking walkins. We were then taken into a waiting area to wait for our names to be called. 2:30 we were taken to our seats. Window seats overlooking the Carousel. THe view was amazing. THe vouchers included an apetizer. Joe got the Castle fries and I got the Ceaser salad which we each shared. THe castle fries come in a huge basket with 2 dipping sauces. A spicy ketchup and a onion flavored mayonaise. Both good. THen we got entrees. I had the Prime Rob and Joe had the Major Domos Pie. It was enough where we can each eat half off the other. So we got to try both dishes. THe vouchers do include the frozen slushes....I paid the extra 5 bucks for the soverneir cup.
I had the choc and raspberry lava cake which is warm and very rich and ohhh it was soo good. Joe had the Fantasyland SUndae which was way to sweet for me. THis bill came to 75.00
So we saved 15.00.
We made ressies for Rainforrest Cafe for 5:00 for when the parks closed. If you want to walk in at this time there was a one hour wait. But well worth it. Again I paid 30 each for vouchers. My stuffed Lobster was 39.00 It was good but I would get something else nixt time. Our waiter was very attentive and helped us with our selections. The vouchers were good for the slushes that came in the soverenier cups which we got. You needed to use two vouchers for the Volcano which is what we got and we shared. Brownies, vanilla ice cream, choc sauce yummy. This bill came to a little over 130.00 (WOW)
Vouchers are easy to use. You really have to do homework to decide which is the best for your money. Most of the counter services were either break even and a little under the cost of the voucher.
Pinnocio Village Haus is like that. We both had the double cheeseburger, french fries, soda and a cookie. Lunch total was 24.00 We did get the figero fires everyone raves about here. THey were truly different. The double cheese burger was huge and I can see using one voucher for two children and asking for an extra bun.
Sorry this is soo long. I hope it helps someone.
