Convinced him a few months ago to do a trip with me. our first one together. i've been with my family for years (disney crazed as I am!). He is not (probaby something to do with me leaving him for 5 months to work on the CP 10 years ago). But he agreed to go since he has gotten to tag along on numerous business trips of mine, including Hawaii and Vegas last year. While I was working, he got to play. So this trip is for ME! We talked about a 5 night trip at first, then i decided on a 4 night, for $ and so he wouldn't go nuts with too much disney! :rotfl:

I booked free dining Sat 8/19-Wed 8/23 at CBR. then i thought, well we should fly in Friday night instead, so we don't spend half the day on saturday travelling. so I booked our free flights (using AA miles from business trips!), arriving MCO late- about 9pm. he wanted to work some that day if he could, hence the later flight. I planned to take off that day regardless- who can work the day of or before a trip?

well today I re-thought it and changed our flight to 11:30am, arriving MCO at 3pm. YEAH! so now we have a whole extra afternoon to spend at WDW. Problem is, I haven't told the hubby yet! I know he won't really mind and he would have had to leave work at lunch anyways on the original flight. so here's hoping I don't get into trouble! anyone else gotten into trouble with your spouse for WDW planning stuff? :confused3 :goodvibes :cool1:

not yet...thankfully he leaves all the planning to me. He just says you figure it out and I'll be there! Which is great, I get to do whatever I want and he can't complain about it :)!!! I have to agree though, you might as well get to enjoy the evening there!!

Hubby said go, so I started planning. :cloud9: Now he says no and I am still planning. :surfweb: Then he says you are going whether I go or not aren't you? Oh woe, :rolleyes1 yes I am. I hope anyway!

I'm into the planning and don't even let DH have any say!!! I am BAD!!! I wouldn't even let him know the cost of ANYTHING. Was on my cc and I pay the bills. We only discuss the days of the trips so he can put in for leave! Works out best that way. I even got the Dining Plan so he wouldn't have to worry about paying for meals ---

In November, he is allowed to pick out one counter service meal .... that's it!!! Though he does map out where we go once we get inside the park, taking into account my lunch plans/times. So far it's working for us .... been working for us for almost 21 years! :teeth:

You go for it exwdwcm!!!!

Thankfully, DH is a big Disney freak, loves these boards & loves to plan--but loves to work! Since we haven't booked flights for our Nov trip yet, I am sooo tempted to make plans for leaving on Friday am. Yep, we're at POP for Fri/Sat but I AM STILL EXCITED! :cheer2: and would like to get there before our usual 1 AM on a Saturday morning. Now, who can sleep in even if we are up late, I just want to WDW!
I do live in fear the flight will be cancelled or delayed since we do take the last flight out, which would leave us:
1) sleeping in the airport--worse things can happen :confused3
2) missing many hours of Magic! :scared1: not acceptable! :p

sigh~
too chicken to risk the wrath of the Christopher! :teeth:

or am I?

Right now actually. I'm in the same boat as katlas...DH & I decided to take the kids to WDW for Thanksgiving, made all the arrangements cept airfare, and now DH is balking at the idea.

We just redid our roof and now DH wants to reside the house as well, plus he is going our for knee surgery next week and will out of work for 6 weeks. That what he SAYS is the issue, but I know it's not.

The issue, for him, is that we want to bring his daughter with us for the trip and he doesn't want to have to ask his ex to give up part of her T-day holiday time, even though we would be willing to swap holidays or give time back so she could come.

So I keep planning and planning and DH keeps shaking his head.

My DH goes to Disney strictly to please me so I do all the planning and try to bother him with it as little as possible. But....

Our plans were to stay at BCV Sunday through Thursday and I've decided to add the weekend as well since it won't cost DH anymore time away from work to stay an extra two days. Made reservations on the QT and haven't told him yet, waiting for the right moment and hoping he won't mind too much! Otherwise we may both be in hot water.

I don't think that you should be in trouble at all! as you said, he would have had to take off at lunch time anyway so what is a few hours? you just go and have LOTS of fun...remember to keep all business supplies AT HOME! I usually have a hard time getting my husband to do that when we are on vacaction but he will THIS time even if we have to hog tie him! HAHA!
Actually, he got in a bit of trouble for this trip in October! he booked Citrico's Chef's Domain for $600.00 for ONE MEAL! it's a chef's table located in the kitchen area where they make you special food but COME ON, $600.00! think of what you could do for that much money right? but he considers it a one of a kind thing along with Victoria and Albert's Chef's table (we're doing that too!)

Do I get in trouble with DH in planning WDW trips, you ask? On an almost daily basis. It has gotten so bad that I am almost forbidden to mention the "D" word. I hate not being able to plan and talk about trip like I would like to. We just went this past April but I am already planning another trip in Nov and would love to do the cruise for our 10th anniversary next April. I better get a job!! :confused3

That's funny, I am always thinking that DH is going to kill me everytime I plan a trip  I'm always changing things around on him (hotels, restaurants, flying times). Sometimes, he gets upset, but, once we are there he realizes that those changes are what made our trip better. You'll see, once he sees that arriving earlier will give him an extra afternoon of fun, he will forget about work. My husband has a saying that he says while at Disney "This is better than working".He will realize that and not kill you. Once you get back home, you can start planning your next Disney vacation popcorn::

I hope that my DBf won't catch on. We were originally scheduled to leave WDW on Sept 18th, but Spirit Air moved out flight times by two hours , so I called to see how much the difference would be to move our flight to late night on Sept 19th? The customer rep said there would be no charge bacause they had made changes to our original flight. WOO HOO another night at Disney. The best part is DBF did not even know what day we were supposed to leave.........he can be so clueless.

I wouldn't say I got in "trouble," but when I told DH I booked the GF for his birthday trip he was a bit stunned. But of course he doesn't MIND staying at the GF, so as long as he doesn't have to see the bill, then he's ok. I use my own money that I save specifically for our Disney vacations. He has no idea what our trips cost - and that's fine with him as long as we don't carry a CC balance.

This thread is great! :thumbsup2 I'm about to pull a fast one on DBF and extend our trip by one or two nights, because I just feel like 4.5 days is not enough for his first trip. I can hardly believe he agreed to go in the first place! He sees it as an act of love  , but once he experiences the Magic for himself, I think he'll be hooked too. He can't be too mad about the extra day or two when I'm planning everything, right ? :rolleyes1

I planed a trip for Labor day weekend, told hubby but didn't tell him I was extending it. Well he can't get the extra days off work. He was a little upset. But I made it a little better I got him a flight home when needed it. I might be crazy but I didn't change mine and my daughters we are still saying the extra two days. . . . :cheer2:  :cheer2: :cool1: so it kinda worked out.

This is too funny!

Months ago I kept emailing the info about free dining etc to DH...he never replied etc., then I posted a thread about this and was given some ideas on how to get him to take me.... ( works wonders... :rotfl2: ), anyway, long story short......

He says he will take me, but could we please go any other time other than hurricane season.....so I am all for that, it gives me longer to dream and plan. He also says......"no talking about the trip to anyone including him until September".....he knows how bad I am!

Well..........I have told a few people, some days I am jumping out of my skin. Also, he didn't want me to book it etc until September (no real reason, except that he knows I am obsessive with all this). Well..........I did book it, I couldn't stand not having the reservation (afterall, they may fill up... :rotfl2: ). I went home at lunch for a week straight to get the reservation out of the mail. I am waiting until September to tell him....then I have to break it to him that I want to go for 8 nights......guess more  dancing bananas are in order!

I can't even justify my behaviour, except that I am sick!!!
