I'm sure this has been discussed before...

I wish you could redeem the dessert portion of your meals at a later time. We passed on dessert, or just plain threw it out so often because we weren't ready for dessert just then, especially with the QS meals. When we stopped for QS meals, we wanted to be quick! Not linger over a cupcake or similar.

I completely agree with you! I'd much rather have dessert an hour or two later than the meal. Our next trip, I'm bringing a little soft cooler with us to the parks, so I can see if I can take dessert to go, or if there are places that will sub a water bottle instead.

I heard a rumor that if you use a QS during breakfast they give you a Dessert chip or something for later. One of the old salts should know.

We never had an issue with taking a dessert to go. If it wasn't already packaged, no one had any issue with packaging it for us, whether QS or TS.

Dessert isn't an option at breakfast at all.

If you eat at your resort and you want ice cream as your dessert, they'll stamp your receipt and you have up to an hour to redeem it.

Nope. Breakfast does not include dessert, just the entree (or breakfast platter) and a beverage.
For lunch or dinner at some places (generally resort food courts), you can tell the cashier you want ice cream or a similar dessert that melts when you pay and they will mark your receipt to come back within a specific time limit to get the dessert. You cannot go elsewhere to get the dessert.

I may actually bring a small tupperware container empty in the cooler - big enough for a cupcake! I have a hard enough time eating a whole QS meal let alone dessert immediately after!

The whole reason the dining plan includes desert is to add value without adding (much) cost. People see how much they will "save" but then forego desert (or order desert when they really don't want it). That makes more money for Disney and you will still think you've saved money.

So many of the qs meals are really oversized, so we share. Usually 3-4 meals are more than enough for all 6 of us, especially with dessert. Then we get a snack later if we feel like it.
