She just asked me if there were basketball hoops when I was little
I know I'm 40 years young but holy cow :hippie:

I remember being about 4 and thinking my mom was REALLY OLD, she was about 26 at the time :scared1: .

As a kid, I always thought Model T's, from the mid 20's, were neat. That was like in the late 50's, making the Model T's about 30 years old at the time. My first new car was a '64 Ford, 42 years ago. :faint: That same span of time today would have been like me looking back, in the late 50's, to a car from 1916, which was museum material. And I chuckle today when I see cars I bought as new, driving around with antique license plates. :moped:

Don't you just love it when kids say what they think?! When my youngest DD was about 4 she asked a few questions that we still chuckle about. "Mom, when you were little did you have to go potty outside or did nana & pop have a "real" bathroom?" and "Mom, did you have a real swingset like me when you were a little girl or did you just have a rope in the tree?" and "Did you even have a black and white tv or did you just have to listen to one of those big radio things?"

When my oldest, who is 16 now, was 6 she was so excited to see this funny new TV show, couldn't wait for me to watch it with her. I was excited too until I realized she was talking about "Gilligan's Island".

I'm just 35 and they think I'm older than dirt!

My younger sister always used to annoy my dad by asking him questions like, "Dad, you fought on the Union side in the Civil War, didn't you?" and "What was it like to travel in a covered wagon?" :lmao:

Now, my dd is learning about the Great Depression in History class. It worked out perfectly that she was studying when my mom came over for dinner on Sunday and could tell her all about it from a personal point of view (Mom was a child during the Depression.)

A couple of years ago DD was studying westward expansion in social studies. We were talking about it in the car and she told me that they had to use horse and buggies like when I was little  I'm only 37. I immediately corrected her that we did have cars when I was little (not all had seatbelts but we did have cars).

We have commercials on tv for a local retirement/rehabilitation center. About a year ago she told be when I turn 55 I was going to 'that place over there' (along with the little hand gesture) :sad2: After much discussion she said it was for the 55 and over community near us (yeah, sure, that's what she meant :sad2: )

I was showing my youngest, Danny our wedding pictures and he yells "What happened to you, you got old?" That was almost 2 years ago and I still want to ground him for it. :teeth:

I just keep telling myself he is going to have his own kids some day and then I'll have my revenge. ;) :lmao:

My DS7 asked me during dinner what we ate on when I was a kid. He was amazed to learn we had tables and chairs "back then"

BTW, I'm 31 :teeth:

Last year my DS (5th grade then) had to make a replica of a record player. He asked if I know what they look like and if I ever saw one??? The surprise on his face when I told him I not only had a record player but also had 8 track! And then had to explain what an 8 track was.

And I'm only 37 yrs young.

:lmao:
I always tell my mom that shes old. LOL. Monday was her b-day and I texted her from school "Happy b-day. Now your really old." LOL. Me and my bro were playing eye spy a couple weeks ago and my brother said "I spy something that is old" My answer... "Mom?" HAHA. She just

First time we were at DW with the kids we rode Dinosaur. When we got off my stepson looked at my dh and said "So did that remind you of your childhood?" I told him to run as fast as he could
