My daughter just called me this morning from Orlando. She is doing an advanced internship with Disney until January. She previously did the College program two years ago.
Seems last evening her roommate ( another intern) cut her leg and needed to be taken to a clinic near their apartment. My daughter drove her and while in the waiting room, struck up a conversation with a young woman from Arizona who was there with her son(age 8) and mother. The young one apparently was having some ear problems from the flight and was in a lot of pain. They were staying at one of the All Stars. When she had inquired at the front desk, she was told to take a taxi to the nearest clinic. Cost one way: $25.
When my daughter heard this she was infuriated. She immediately called Guest Relations and got the phone # for the All Stars and talked to the manager. Ended up they sent a guest relations van to the clinic to pick up the family and had a basket with stuffed animals, cookies,etc. ready for him at his room. Plus she managed to get them to comp the family a table service meal for the whole family at a restaurant of their choice. I was really proud of her. I told her she earned her ears today.
