My 2 year old cut her hair :(

SIGH......what more can I say to that?? :(

Yup! My 4.5 yo did that too, last month!

Her 1/2 way to the waist hair, now a short bob. Actually, with the exception of the "swatch" she took out of her bangs, she did a pretty good job.

Used those silly little kiddie sizors....

Oh, it's just hair, it'll grow back, someday.......

I have to take her up to the mall and get it fixed now. She had really LONG, pretty curly hair and she cut a HUGE amount off of the front. Sigh. I know it'll grow back, but still........ :(

welcome to the wonders of motherhood...My mother always said you wern't really a mother till you had to take your child to the hair place to "fix" their hair!!

Hopefully won't have to worry about mine...
My oldest cried her eyes out when mommy got her hair cut....
I taught her well...:o

2 years ago when my daughter was 4 she cut her hair. It was downto her waist and curly. She cut the sides up to her shoulders and the back to her neck my husband didn't even know and was with her al day. Hello her hair was 10 inches shorter I knew right away. I cried for about a week because mostly she is in pageants and didn't want to use wigs. It has been 2 years now and its only upo to the middle of her back and the curls never came back.

My 5 yr old Ds cut his hair today also a big chunch out of the middle of his head. I had to take him to the Barber Shop and get his head shaved no way else to fix what he cut.

What sounds like a crisis now will be minor once they are teens and have real problems. Some day you'll laugh about it. I'll never forget the day my SIL called hysterical, screaming and crying. I couldn't understand a word she said until I finally figured out that her oldest cut off her youngest curls. I was so relieved that nobody was dead, I started to laugh. My SIL is a huge ditz, she always was going on and on about the youngest and her beautiful curls. I thought no wonder, the oldest probably got sick of hearing it and figured -- I'll fix her.

Well, I feel a little bit better now. At first, the stylist gave her a "mullet cut" and I HATED IT. I took her back and told her I'd rather it be short all around. Now it's "light and fluffy" looking and the ends are a little curly...to be honest, it looks very similar to last October when her hair was still growing out.

It happened in almost a split second it seemed....she was playing in the bedroom with me, and she went out to get a toy in the living room. My boyfriend was asleep on the couch, and he forgot to put the scissors back from using them on the porch.....she cut ALL of it away on her left side of her head. She was very neat about it...apparently she snipped it off quick, and threw it all in the trash herself! :teeth: Then she came back into the room and I woke my boyfriend up yelling, "OH MY GOD! WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Yes, I cried. I cried hard :( I felt like such a bad mother, and I cried at Hair Cuttery, too. I know there are much, much worse things...it's a miracle she didn't cut her ear off, as the hair right by it look practically shaved. Just when you think you have an eye on them all of the time, you don't.

Thank goodness she's safe though :) And I don't need her to get a haircut anytime soon, either. ::yes::

Kelsea cut her hair lots of times. Anytime someone would leave scissors out. She usually cut it in such a way that I didn't notice until I combed her hair and clumbs would come out. She didn't cut off length, she just thinned it majorly.

Been there too. :)

My youngest at 4, cut her bangs right before Christmas. Just as they were actually long enough to look good again, she wacked them off again the day before Easter.

I feel your pain.

There once was a 3yo little girl named Michelle. She had very pretty golden blonde hair that did that "sausage curl" thing when her Mommy put it up in pigtails. One day she went to Grandma's house to visit. Grandma was babysitting for the 3yo from down the street, who also had very pretty curly hair, in a rich dark brown. Grandma made two mistakes that day:

1) Telling the babysittee that her hair was so pretty, just like chocolate!

2) Leaving the two girls alone in the room for five minutes (to check the cookies in the oven or something), with her pinking shears sitting on the end table next to the craft project she'd been working on.

:teeth:

[Anyone want to guess what the M in MHopkins stands for??]

My oldest daughter once cut her bangs SO short in places that it looked someone shaved them. There was basically nothing I could do. I evened them out as best I could but they were ridiculous looking, about 1 inch long straight across her forehead...

The beauty of it all is HAIR GROWS BACK!!! And think of it this way, now you have another cute toddler story to tell. :teeth:

Add my DD to the list....she's cut her own hair two or three times. I did cry the first time (she had long beautiful curls too) but now I'm used to it. No more tears, now I just get it evened out and move on.

My daughter did it too. She did it in such a way that the only way I could tell was by seeing the hair on the floor. She made layers in it on one side. It was actually a pretty nice job for a four year old.

I remember the day I first cut my hair. I actually made it until I was 6 before I did it. I threw it behind the bookshelf in the basement and then put barrettes in my hair to hide the damage. Worked pretty good until my mom wanted to go to do some shopping.

Like a dummy I asked my mom to do my hair before we left. I wasn't a real smart kid.

My DD never cut her hair, but she wouldn' brush it either--it looked like a Rats Nest! So, I got my stylist to come over and cut it, and she cut it WAY to SHORT! MY DD says to this day she cried for days.:( Now, its down to her butt, and she gets it layered every once in awhile.:o
