My dad's girlfriend won 4 tickets to Disneyland!! *excited*

So, my dad's girlfriend won 4 tickets to Disneyland (along with a night at the Disneyland Hotel) from a country radio station!! I've been anxiously waiting for a week. Has anyone here ever won free tickets to the happiest place on Earth? If so, tell me your experience. ^-^

I won some PHs a couple years ago from a radio station. My prize was just tickets but it was basically just free tickets. There was nothing special about them although they did say promotional or something like that on them (ie- I don't think you could upgrade them to APs or anything).

I would expect it to be similar with the hotel night. Basically just a free night.

I won two 3 day park hoppers on 101.1 in sacramento on the lee and Christina show battle of the sexes back in 05.

took my then GF ( now my wife) and unknowingly went for the 50th anniversary weekend in July that year. it was very hot but we had a blast anyway.

When I was 4 my mom won a trip to Disneyland. Our win included staying at the Disneyland Hotel, 3 day park tickets, and airfare. The only memory I have of it was sitting outside Splash Mountain with my dad while my mom and brother went on the ride. We just sat on a bench and talked. It is one of my most cherished memories.

I won the same thing from a radio station too. 4 days 3 nights at Disneyland Hotel airfare, ground transportation and park hopper tickets. I still can't believe I won it. We leave in 3 weeks and can't wait!

Congrats! I can only afford to go to Disneyland if I win tickets these days. Last year, I accumulated 4 2-day hoppers so I took my mom, her friend and my best friend. This year I've won 6 2-day hoppers and I went this past September with my boyfriend before our cruise and I'm going in two weeks with the same people as last year. Never have won the "grand prize" though!

Love it! Sometimes in life its just those simple yet precious momments that we always remember and treasure. I can picture it! Its exactly the reason why, when my daughters ask if I could, would I rent out Disneyland just for us. Believe it or not, my answer is "No" because then I would miss out on seeing these moments in perfect strangers lives. For me, seeing so many people smile and enjoying life is part of the fun and excitement.

I won tickets form our radio station. A year ago this week we were on the Ellen Degenerous show and she sent my family of 7 to DL. We stayed at the Comfort inn and Suites and got to play for 4 days! It was awesome!

Lucky DBF won Deluxe APs and so we're trying to go monthly Don't worry, we spend LOADS of money each time we go. Disney sucks so much money from us xD

I won 2 nights at the Grand Californian and four 2-day parkhoppers from the DIS Unplugged podcast 1-year anniversary giveaway (thanks, guys!). No transportation but I only live a state away so that was no hardship. It was amazing. Honestly, I was seriously excited for weeks after I won, and I'm still so grateful, as I thought I would literally NEVER be able to stay at the Grand Californian.

When I won, I had to choose 3 different sets of dates and then would be booked into one of them--I got my first choice (11/1-11/3/12). There was a bit of a wait, waiting for Tom to hear from Disney about the dates, but it all turned out just great!

Since I could bring up to 3 other people, I invited my friend who was over while I was entering the contest, my best friend from Florida (who flew out), and my mom, who took me on countless Disney trips when I was younger (and still goes with me now!). We actually stretched out the trip by booking 2 more days at the front end of the trip and buying Halloween party tickets for Halloween night...but the DIS Unplugged trip would've been wonderful just on its own too. Having some free lodging also made it possible to entice my friend out here to fulfill her dream of dressing up on Halloween (AS Ariel, AT Disneyland), so it was perfect!

We checked in to the Grand Californian maybe 8:30 AM the morning of the first day of the DIS Unplugged portion of the trip. (Disneyland opened at 10 AM, Magic Morning at 9.) Aside from parking, everything was covered! The Grand Californian had us booked into a standard view/5 person room but asked if 2 queens would be OK instead. I asked if they had anything with a view, the Cast Member worked her magic for maybe 5 awkward minutes, and voila! A partial-pool-view room, I believe in the new/Villas section...and we got into our room at our early check-in! (The bellhop told me not to tell anyone, because that NEVER happens. And I know it's unusual, but here I am, telling you all anyway... )

The room was lovely, and it was a quick walk and elevator ride to the Paradise Viewing Area! (Which I think is highly underrated, since I never saw another soul there our whole trip.) Even though the tickets and hotel were free, I definitely made the most of the trip. I almost wish I'd spent a little time relaxing in the hotel itself instead of just running around Disneyland/DCA and exploring. Almost.

I know your dad's girlfriend is family, so it's not necessary, but it might be a nice gesture to buy her a little something as a thank you for taking you along on the trip.

It's not uncommon for winners to have to wait at least 6-8 weeks? I know there was a lot of angst from winners of the Cars Land/Coke/Fry's/Ralph's contest, waiting to hear back from Disney and/or Ralph's. Everything was sorted out in the end though!

I think how long you have to wait depends on where you win them from. My sister has won 3 years in a row from radio stations, she has never waited more than a week for her tickets.

My DH won some in October from a radio station in Utah. We got three day 1 park per day passes and two nights at the DLH. We are so excited. The way it worked for us was that the station gave our info to the promotions department at DL. A week later they called DH and got his tax info. Then a week after that we got paperwork in the mail that we had to fill out giving them three possible dates we would be able to attend. We faxed that in and a couple of days later we got an email telling us the dates they had selected for us based on our list. The email also said that we would be able to check into the hotel at 8am and that the front desk would have our tickets for us at that time. We could not pick them up any earlier, have them mailed or upgrade them or the hotel. Pretty inflexible as we wanted to spend more money for extra days and hoppers , but I am not complaining.We're just grateful we get to go!
