My dad is having bypass surgery today

Hi everyone,
I know how powerful this board can be, and I could really use some prayers, if possible. My dad went in today for a cardiac cath. We hoped he would just need a stint put in or something, but I just got a call that he needs a triple bypass, and they are doing it at noon today. He'll turn 80 in two weeks, and we have a party planned for him already. He's been through 2 different cancers, so I know he's strong, but we are all still very worried. I'm heading to the hospital soon to stay with my mom and several of my sisters. Please keep him in your prayers today, and I'll try to update as soon as I know anything.

Sending good vibes to you and your family! My dad had a quadruple bypass about 8 years ago. He said it was easier than he thought it would be and he came though with flying colors! He just turned 84 last week. I bet your dad will be just fine too!

My Dad had five bypasses five years ago after having a heart attack. He's 68 now and doing great. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes, everyone. Just a quick update. Dad came thru the surgery okay. He had 6 bypasses, and had to get 2 pints of blood during the surgery. We just heard that he needed another pint this evening. That kinda scares me. We all had to leave the hospital at 6:30; no one can be in the room with him from then until 11 am tomorrow. We can have one person call and check on him a few times and then let everyone else know how he's doing, though.
I'm a little nervous to go to sleep tonight; I hated seeing him like that in the ICU, so frail. I'll update tomorrow when I hear something else. Thanks again, and please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
