Hugs for your family
My Dad was diagnosed in 99 with Hodgkins Disease which is cancer of the lymph nodes. He was stage two but they put him on aggressive chemo for 6 months and he has been in remission since then.
I know it is difficult to deal with this. Believe me, I know. I have lost two members of my family to cancer so when my Dad told us about his cancer my heart sank. My immediate thoughts were my dad is going to die. But he set his mind to fighting it with everything he had. It does make a difference. My dad had several setbacks during treatment but he set his mind to fact that he was going to beat it.
You and your family need to stay strong for your Dad and encourage him when he gets down. It helped me to learn all I could about my dad's cancer and just what to expect with his formula of chemo. I find when I know what is going on it isn't quite as scary.
Just hang in there and know that we are all thinking about you and your family
