it says something like "iexplorer has an error the program must shut down" ok so I don't remember what it said - but it's closing down my program about 1 time an hour (or more)

What could be wrong??

Here's what it really says:

" Iexplore.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. you will need to restart the program "

then it kicks me out of the website - this has happend on a couple sites - not just this one...

Make sure all your Windows updates are current. Do virus and Ad-Aware scans to get rid of any threats. If all else fails, you may need to reinstall your operating system. Try the other things first.

Internet Explorer is a notoriously buggy browser. I've had two computers that had repeated problems with explorer -- shutting down, error messages, blue screens, the works. The solution I discovered? Easy ... download Mozilla or Firefox (these are free internet browsers that are fantastic and work much better than explorer) and use them instead! Seriously -- once explorer starts bugging out, you might not be able to do anything except reinstall windows ... and who wants to do that?

should be easy to install -- just pm me if you have problems or questions.

I hate that error message! We finally just had to reinstall the operating system because we did everything and the problem never got resolved. I only use Firefox now except the few sites that don't support it. I also got rid of Norton Internet Security. That has to be the worst virus protection, internet security package available. We kept it updated and it never found anything. After having several security breaches on my computer, I learned about Mozilla Firefox and Trend Micro Internet Security. As a test, I updated Norton's programs and did a scan, it produced nothing. I then ran Trend Micro for the first time and found over 300 viruses and problems on my computer. I've been using both programs close to a year now and haven't had the first problem with my computer! Do yourself a favor and stop using Internet Explorer. It causes so many problems.

What version of Windows is that computer running? We used to have a computer with Windows ME and that started happening all the time, the only thing that resolved it was updating Windows to XP.

We're using Windows 2000 and this problem started right after my mother installed some automatic updates on Monday. I took off all the updates and the problem went away. I really don't need updates to make more problems.

OP everyone is getting that today..............

our IT dept said it is some kind of internet provider issue......
