We've decided to try the deluxe dining plan next trip which would give us 24 meals each for a 8 night stay. These are the places I'm thinking of trying. If you add it up, it will be more than 24 so please tell me what you would eliminate.

Breakfasts:
Princess storybook at akershus
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys
Tusker House
Boma

lunches:
Sci fi
Marrakesh
wolfgang puck express
Beaches n Cream
san angel inn
flame tree bbq
tutto italia

dinners:
50's PTC
Whispering canyon cafe
Narcoossee's (counts as 2 meals)
Ohana's
Jiko (2)
California Grill (2)
Hoop Dee doo (2)
Le Cellier
Yachstman steakhouse (2)
Cape may cafe
flying fish (2)

It adds up to 29 and we will only be there 8 nights, 9 days so I'll need 9 meals for dinners but I currently have 11 places where I'd like to try dinner. I'll be with Dh and DD5. Please help me decide by telling me which you would eliminate. Thankyou. ;)

You could keep them (I am not well versed on the delux plan, but if your credits are good untill midnight checkout day this would work) and pay oop for the breakfasts. They are the cheapest meals.

If it were me, I would take out either LeCellier or Yachtsman. Both serve lots of beef and both are located close together (plus you have FF also in that same area). Your choice on which of the two though. I prefer Yachtsman and DH prefers LeCellier.

Out of the rest of them, I think you have picked a great variety. My personal choice of the one other I'd skip would be WCC. I really hated that place. I must add, we have no children in our party and I thought the quality of the food was bad enough that even the fun atmosphere could not offset it. So maybe I'm just old and grumpy!!!

The only thing I see as a clear drop is Sci-Fi. I'm just not a fan on any level. Everything else on there looks pretty terrific.

I"m not saying these are all bad.... I'm just saying these are the ones I would pick to drop.

Tusker House
wolfgang puck express
Narcoossee's (counts as 2 meals)
Jiko (2)

We love Jiko But I was thinking that you were already going to Boma and you have a little one with you. If it were me I would not have as many sit down "adult" meals since I don't know if my daughter would be able to sit for that long and enjoy herself

I was thinking of dropping flying fish since I already have a few of those other signature meals and we're not too big on fish.

looks m like you have several stek houses, maybe weed out 1 or 2 of them. great choices though, let us know how you like the deluxe plan

I'd drop Chef Mickey's and Marakkesh. I know people love them, but I wasn't crazy about either of them. Also, you can get great steak at lots of places at WDW so I don't think it's needed to have more than one dedicated steak-house.

Of your choices....to drop easily in my mind would be a selection of the following....

Sci Fi
Whispering Canyon
Tutto Italia (seen the menu and do not see much that wows me)
Yachtsman steakhouse
Cape May ( I think your daughter will nto be impressed)

Have you planned out your park days yet? That's where I'd start looking for things to cut. For example, you have 3 lunches you want to try at Epcot, plus another in an Epcot area resort. Are you going to be in that area for 4 days, or is doing all of those going to be a lot of traveling just for meals?

For us, once we planned our park days, narrowing down restaurants was easy. Some choices became obviously good, because they were close to where we were planning to be, and others became obviously bad because of the travel involved in getting there.

If it were me I would drop San Angel Inn, move Le Celliar to lunch and drop Yachtsman. Yachtsman is over rated for a 2 credit. I would also reconsider Jiko. It's not really a kid resturant.

You would only have 8 dinners, but honestly by the end you are going to have to have someone to roll you around!:rotfl:

I would drop Chef Mickey's, Sci Fi, 50s PTC, and Hoop De Doo. And like others have said, though Jiko was my absolute favorite dinner from last trip, it just doesn't seem all that kid-friendly to me. HTH! :)

I hope you have your breakfast ressies VERY early, and your dinners VERY late - I think you will find it hard to eat that much food in a day, every single day!
I am doing the DDP basic plan. I don't think we could do a big buffet or TS breakfast every day. Maybe consider dropping the big breakfasts??
Unless you guys are REALLY big eaters, I think you are going to find this too much food!

I would drop Chef Mickey's, Sci Fi, 50s PTC, and Hoop De Doo. And like others have said, though Jiko was my absolute favorite dinner from last trip, it just doesn't seem all that kid-friendly to me. HTH! :)
You recommend dropping every kid friendly restaurant that doesn't feature princesses or Pooh and then say Jiko doesn't seem kid friendly? That seems a little strange. I say move PTC to lunch, drop the fish and then just pick a 2 and a 1 that don't fit into touring plans. Eat and enjoy. One thing, traveling to all the different resorts is fun, but little ones often will get bored with that.

My 1st choice to dump is 50s Prime Time Cafe.
We were seated with a group of people we didn't know because there were
3 of us and it was like they just stuck us somewhere to get rid of us.
We did not enjoy the people we were seated with they were annoying.

My 2nd choice to dump is Chef Mickeys--very noisy and food was not good
at all. Very expensive for what you get. Very little time with Charactors.
We were 3 adults (DS 11 yrs.) and cost $104.00 for dinner.
Thank goodness
we were on the FD plan, I would have been upset with the cost and the
quality of the food.
All my DS and I ate were the Ravioli and Mash Potatoes everything else was
gross.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you're anything like me, your plans will almost certainly change a little bit, and you'll miss one (or more) ADRs. Keeping an extra one gives you some flexibility during your trip---just call to cancel as soon as you know you won't make it.

I might consider eliminating some of the breakfasts. For my family, we do one TS breakfast each trip. The rest of the mornings we eat in the room or grab something quick at the resort before heading out to the parks. We're early risers and like to be at the parks when they open. My kids would not want to have that many sit-down breakfasts when they could be in the parks riding the rides. However, I realize that's not everyone's style. Just something to thionk about.

Also, have you planned out how many days you'll be spending in each park? That might help you figure out which restaurants will work best for you.

I'd drop Sci-Fi definitely. We ate there once and the food was horrible. However, I respectfully disagree with those who say Jiko is not kid-friendly. We eaten there twice with our children and we all enjoyed ourselves. Our server even brought a phone to the table because Goofy was calling. The kids thought that was great!

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

The only thing I see as a clear drop is Sci-Fi. I'm just not a fan on any level. Everything else on there looks pretty terrific.

As others have mentioned, don't eat at Sci-Fi. It was absolutely horrible. The atmosphere was cute and all but not worth suffering through inedible food.

The other place on your list with mixed reviews is San Angel Inn. We haven't eaten there but we ate at CS in Mexico and is was disgusting.

I'd drop Chef Mickey's and Marakkesh. I know people love them, but I wasn't crazy about either of them.

We absolutely loved Marrakesh! It offers something a little different and the entertainment is wonderful as well. Make sure you time your ADR to correspond with the show time.

Thankyou all for the replies. I knew you guys could help. As of right now (and I'm sure this might change) I'm probably dropping San Angel inn, Wolfgang express, flying fish and Beaches n' cream.

I really don't want to drop Chef Mickeys or PTC nor the HDDR.
We've been to Chef Mickeys for dinner and loved it although the variety is small and so we'd like to try bfst this time.

I've been wanting to try PTC and HDDR since last trip but couldn't so I would really love to keep these in for now.

The one I'm most regreting letting go of is Beaches n' Cream because we love ice cream but it won't fit in with my schedule.
