$860!!!!! I've been saving since the day we returned fom WDW last year. This included all our pocket change, singles, garage sale earnings and "found" money from on-line surveys and a couple of birthday checks. In addition, I stashed away $100 in Disney dollars and just got a bonus that my partners insist I spend in Disney World!

Our FTP and Keys to the Kingdom Tour were paid for in late September, so this is all for meals and souvenirs! Woo hoo!

Congrats barbeml-- that's awesome! Have a fantastic time on your trip!

Well good for you!! :rotfl: :jumping1: I remember that I paid for our trip to New Orleans earlier this year in much of the same way. Our trip was in May and I started saving in Feb., by throwing odd dollars, loose change, and paychecks into my savings jar. I saved about $450 by time our trip rolled around. That's not bad for only 4 months of saving! ::yes::
Our trip to Disney is not until May of 2006 and I'm not really saving at the time, but I do have a savings jar going and I have an extra $154 in the bank that's there to use when the time rolls around. The way I got the extra money in the bank is amazing and I can't believe it works, but because I'm not a to-the-penny person about my checking account it works out wonderfully. So long as the bank has more money than me, I'm fine. There's about $74 in our savings jar and that is cool to see too. So if I was saving for a Disney trip right now, I would have our 4 day hopper passes paid for! I get a great deal on hopper passes being a FL resident.
Isn't it great knowing your trip is paid for long before you get there, and that all extra money can be used for food and souvees?

Congrats again,
Denise

That checkbook idea is terrific! I'm all for any form of saving that is "painless."

barbeml,

What kind of online surveys? Do you have any links you could share? I bet we could all use a few extra bucks.

Take care

The Disney Rewards Board is a great source of info on surveys and points for rewards. The best for me has been American Consumer Opinion (I think it is acop.com). I seem to get a check from them every month ($4-$10, depending on survey). Even these small checks add up to a couple of tanks of gas!

MyPoints.com is the best place to earn points for gift certificates (restaurants, web certificates, gas cards, Starbucks, etc) related to travel. You will see many My Points threads on the Rewards Board.

Good luck!!

I am also a change saver!! My change usally pays for the gas down and back (from Illinoi) to Disney. We are going back in April, and I hope to have enough saved to buy our tickets!!!!! Have a great "disney time"!!!!!! I wish I were going in 3days!
