just climbed into my freezer, behind the sliding drawer. He sat down and looked at me like I was nuts as I yelled at him to move, and tried to close the drawer.

Behold, Bruce in the freezer

kitties are silly! ours always tried to hop in the freezer as well (a fridge on top/freezer on bottom model).

Cute picture....but, make a big deal of discouraging that behavior. I'd hate for him to slip in and you not notice, or ( if you have kids ) and be shut in.

It would be a tragedy.

The drawer takes up the whole inside space, I don't think I could shut him in

Even with the live animal in it, your freezer looks more organized than the last time I saw it.

LOL that's hilarious!!! Our kitten was trying to get into the fridge today, he wanted to go behind the crisper. lol :) Luckily there's no way he could, but I imagine he's going to try again. lol

Careful, I was convinced he couldn't get back there, he had tried a few times before

If you lived in a hot climate I could understand, but it's already cold where you are! Maybe he's afraid of that footlocker. ;)

Oh no, he has claimed that as his own. He jumped on it the moment I dragged it into the house.

(a footlocker from very very far away arrived at my house today)

Well, look at it this way, it could be worse. We lived an apartment with an old gas stove on short stubby legs which meant there was a good 2 - 3 inches of space under the stove. Our cats decided that underneath the stove was a very good place to sleep. I didn't know they were under there and I turned on the oven. Can you say "singed kitties". :rolleyes1 They were back under there the next day  At least I thought to look before turning on the stove. DH had to contrive a contraption to block the underside of the stove but would still allow it to vent.
