my cat needs mental help

One of my cats adores them. The second the can is opened he comes over to lick the empty can.
Tuna fish cans get opened.. he comes looks sees if it's spaghettios then walks away.

He also pulls the Spaghettios cans out of the trash. we have to really make sure they are well on the bottom of the trash can.

I tried to feed my cat pop rocks once. :rolleyes1 He wasn't too happy with me, needless to say. Pop Rock cat also liked ice cream. He litterally sounded like he was saying yum yum as he licked the spoon because he was purring at the same time.

The exe's cat loved cheesecake and donut filling.

Growing up we had a cat that loved potato peelings. She'd even dig them out of the garbage can if we didn't give them to her.

The cat we have now loves tuna. . not that weird. . .but I have to put her outside before I open a can, because she's such a nuisance about it. She also likes peas and ranch dressing. :confused3

Awwww! I love kitty stories!!!

We have a siamese cat and she is a dream!
She will only drink water from our cups or from the bathtub faucet.
She gets into everything she is not allowed to get into!
I caught her licking chocolate last week and I nearly had a heart attack!
She has eaten my cereal, french fries, cheese, chicken, pasta... and she loves salt. One day she came right up and starting licking my almonds!
Her and DH play all the time..chasing eachother around the house etc! Its too funny! She greets me and DH when we get home from work.. she has to be picked up and loved. I could squeeze her to death!
My goodness I love her...I pray she will be like this forever. and live forever lol!

Here is a sneak peek of Isis (2.5 yrs old).. out of all the places to sit on our car ride she decided on the dash in front of DH

I had a cat that loved olives. He would play with them like they were prey, tossing them in the air and such before eating them. He even knew when they were around. He could smell them through their plastic tubs in the grocery bag as soon as I walked in the door. He would also steal the tub from the fridge if someone were foolish enough to leave it near the bottom. That weirdo also like cupcakes, I miss him.

One of the cats I have now eats almost anything (including olives). Her favorite is probably corn on the cob though. She gets her claws out for that one. :rotfl:

Is there a cat who isn't mental? LOL, all 4 of mine are! One of them is always doing something crazy and it keeps me from every getting bored.

Right now, our heat is broken, and the cats fight over who sits in front of the space heater. They also stop by the vents and look in them, like "What the heck? Usually warm air comes out of that thing!"

Mine is driving me nuts right now, she has decided in the last month that she does not like water her in bowl if it has sat more than an hour. I literally change the water in her bowl 6 or 7 times a day . She just sits next to it and stares at me, even if she doesn't want any to drink at that second she wants me to change it. Its not like I didnt change it before , it was changed morning and night .

Guess its good I am a SAHM LOL.

She has also decided she needs to drink out of my cup on the nightstand , after knocking over my cup last night for the third time this week, I am going to have to go to bottled water or sometime of sippy cup lol.

I finally got up and turned on the bathroom sink to low drip so she would leave me alone.

Santa is bringing her one of those water bowls that keeps the water running all the time.

This is totally new behavior, after 12 years now she wants to act like a prima donna.

When I was married to my 1st husband, I had a cat that would grab anything "shiny" and hide it in his sneakers.. Jewelry; piece of foil; safety pin; whatever..:)

DD had a cat that would play "fetch" just like a dog.. It had to be a wrapped cough drop though.. You would toss it across the room, he would go and get it, bring it back to you, and wait for you to toss it again.. He would play this game for as long as you were game..:rotfl:

My first cat would play fetch with my dad. He would crumple up his cigarette pack and they would play fetch for hours. Always the cigarette pack though. She also loved macaroni & cheese.

Our last cat used to steal a friend's cigarettes. Only his. At that time, hubby & I both smoked the same brand as the friend, but he would leave ours alone. When he came to visit, he would leave them on the coffee table and if he left them there and came back for them, they were gone.

My mother in law's cat has a thing for toy mice, yellow ones. She'll buy a pack of them and he only wants the yellow ones. That one is evil though, so anything he does doesn't surprise me.

Guess the DIS not only has doctors, now we are apparently flush w/ kitty therapists! Who knew?

Haaa! I had a white cat that loved SpaghettiOs - He would go around with an orange face stained from sticking his head in the can. This crazy cat would also "stand on his head" (he would turn his head upside down and put it flat on the ground and look at you on command.) I miss that kitty.

Cats in Physics

Law of Cat Inertia — A cat at rest will tend to remain at rest, unless acted upon by some outside force - such as the opening of cat food, or a nearby scurrying mouse.

Law of Cat Motion — A cat will move in a straight line, unless there is a really good reason to change direction.

Law of Cat Magnetism — All blue blazers and black sweaters attract cat hair in direct proportion to the darkness of the fabric.

Law of Cat Thermodynamics — Heat flows from a warmer to a cooler body, except in the case of a cat, in which case all heat flows to the cat.

Law of Cat Stretching — A cat will stretch to a distance proportional to the length of the nap just taken.

Law of Cat Sleeping — All cats must sleep with people whenever possible, in a position as uncomfortable for the people involved as is possible for the cat.

Law of Cat Elongation — A cat can make her body long enough to reach just about any counter top that has anything remotely interesting on it.

Law of Cat Acceleration — A cat will accelerate at a constant rate, until he gets good and ready to stop.

Law of Dinner Table Attendance — Cats must attend all meals when anything good is served.

Law of Rug Configuration — No rug may remain in its naturally flat state for very long.

Law of Obedience Resistance — A cat's resistance varies in proportion to a human's desire for her to do something.

First Law of Energy Conservation — Cats know that energy can neither be created nor destroyed and will, therefore, use as little energy as possible.

Second Law of Energy Conservation — Cats also know that energy can only be stored by a lot of napping.

Law of Refrigerator Observation — If a cat watches a refrigerator long enough, someone will come along and take out something good to eat.

Law of Electric Blanket Attraction — Turn on an electric blanket and a cat will jump into bed at the speed of light.

Law of Random Comfort Seeking — A cat will always seek, and usually take over, the most comfortable spot in any given room.

Law of Bag / Box Occupancy — All bags and boxes in a given room must contain a cat within the earliest possible nanosecond.

Law of Cat Embarrassment — A cat's irritation rises in direct proportion to her embarrassment times the amount of human laughter.

Law of Milk Consumption — A cat will drink his weight in milk, squared, just to show you he can.

Law of Furniture Replacement — A cat's desire to scratch furniture is directly proportional to the cost of the furniture.

Law of Cat Landing — A cat will always land in the softest place possible.

Law of Fluid Displacement — A cat immersed in milk will displace her own volume, minus the amount of milk consumed.

Law of Cat Disinterest — A cat's interest level will vary in inverse proportion to the amount of effort a human expends in trying to interest him.

Law of Pill Rejection — Any pill given to a cat has the potential energy to reach escape velocity.

Law of Cat Composition — A cat is composed of Matter + Anti-Matter + It Doesn't Matter.

Our oldest cat (only 2 or 3 though) used to fetch all the time - toy mice - but since we got cat #2 she has mostly stopped. We were hoping she would teach the new one, but no luck. She also loves to drink water out of anything in the kitchen sink, even if it isn't "pure" water. We're forever chasing her out. And she loves to knock anything she can off of our dresser or nightstands in the mornings, but only in the mornings. She also will stuff her head in your cup and drink whatever you are drinking, especially water or tea.

Our other cat, Lily, is not quite as goofy. She is addicted to kitty treats, however, and will beg and beg and beg for them at the pantry all night if anyone goes near the pantry. She's like Emile from Rattatoille - she horks 'em down, lol.

:cloud9:I have one fetch player, dosnet matter what, he will bring it to me to play. Ive got one LAZY (spoiled) girl who hates men and expresses this by peeing on ANY male that dare fall alsleep in her house (no wonder im single). Then Ive got the third cat who must love everyone, shes the visiting kids favorite, cause they can flip her around, snuggle her, hold her wrong and she dosent care, just because someones loving on her.

All my boys have different personalities and quirks. My Archie is obsessed with running water. We have a fountain for them in the kitchen but he prefers the water out of the sink or tub. When we wash dishes he sit on the counter waiting for the sink to be empty than we let the water trickel on him, he get soaked. If someone is in the shower he bangs on the door to get in or he sits in the sink waiting. And there is no privacy when you try to use the toilet, he has to come in. Worse thing is that sometime he cries in the middle of the night while staring at the bathroom sink.

I havent come in contact with any cat that isnt a little crazy......

I currently have 4 kitties and they all have their quirks, one likes to press his head into my hand super hard while he drools and purrs. Goof. Another stalks and terrorizes our biggest dog for sport.

But my first cat ever, a siamese who lived to age 23, was the love of my life. He would awaken me by licking my eyelids. Nice and raspy or biting my nose and hanging on. I would open my eys and be looking directly into his crossed deep blue eyes as he hung on to my nose with his canines. Morning sunshine!!!

He loved cantaloupe. He would rub up and down on the cantaloupe sitting on the counter, and then eat piece after piece once it was cut up. He also ate corn, beans, and peas.

He died in 1999, and I still talk about him as if it was yesterday!!!

LOL I love the red dot story! i got red dot chasers here too. All they have to do is hear "dot"(as we call it) jingle (mines a keychain) and they go bonkers!

Last night my husband was making the kitten spin around and around chasing the red dot, and she got so dizzy that she walked away sideways into a wall like she was drunk.

My cats love to play fetch too, with a shoe lace. We dangle the shoe lace in front of them and they try to catch it. Then at some point I'll just throw the shoelace as far away as possible and they'll go and get it back to me. I haven't played with them in a while, but found the shoelace on the floor yesterday. Guess they are sending me a message? :rotfl:

My oldest, a male named Ti-Myst, will only drink water from the bathroom sink faucet. He doesn't care at all if other parts of him get wet.

Oh boy do my cats love the liquid of marinated olives! No matter where they are in the house, they can smell that thing the second I open the jar. Then they rub against my legs until I give in and pour a little in small cups. It's like an aphrodisiac to them: they'll rub against the floor, the kitchen table, anything. Better than catnip!! :rotfl2:

My little girl Yuna comes to the bathroom with me very often. I have to pet her the whole time I'm there. Also, when I get out of the shower I have both cats waiting for me on the counter.

They may be crazy, and sometimes annoying by not letting me sleep in in the morning, but I love my fur babies to death!

Awww.. I love these stories. I had to put down our sweet kitty a year ago. She had some fun crazies too. I swore she was my ex's dog re-incarnated. She acted just like him, and had almost the exact same coloring and markings. One of her more crazy traits was that she would pounce on the wall as cars drove by in the night. I live on a corner lot so as cars would be approaching the corner the light from their headlights would filter through the blinds against the wall. One night I heard this loud thump on my bedroom wall. I went in, terrified, to investigate, and saw Buster sitting as sweet as you please on the couch in the sitting room staring at the wall. In true cat fashion, she (yes, Buster was a she) looked at me with a "what is your problem" look. I died laughing. She was crazy, but the friendliest cat I've ever had. We really miss her.

we've had some very nutty cats over the years, but two stand out:

my grandparents took in 2 of my aunt's cats: sophie and JR. JR was a beautiful, short-haired, marbled tabby. he was very loving, and whenever i would visit my grandparents, he would hop up in my lap, put his front paws around my neck and his face in the back of my hair, and knead the back of my neck with his paws, while he purred and drooled into my hair, ROFL.

we had a long-haired tabby we named paws, because he had HUGE paws with 6 toes on each foot. every now and then, he'd take a wild hair and run over to the fireplace in our living room (the fireplace was always his starting point), zip around the couch and into the kitchen, run smack into the wall at the other end of the kitchen, bounce off and change direction to his left, run down the hall right into my mother's bedroom, jump up on her bed, turn around, then do it all again in reverse, LMBO.

now, my mother has a long-haired, orange tabby who always has to visit you when you go to the bathroom at her house. he walks right in and stands at your feet so you can pet him, lol. if you try to shut the door, he stands at the door and cries until you open it.

I love reading these stories. We have a one year old kitten who all my cat-friendly friends call "Psychotic". I've never had a cat so I have no idea what is normal and what is not but they all say he is not normal:laughing:

Just last week I was looking out my 2nd story window and saw him about 25' up in a tree, just hanging out. I got all nervous and went outside (took pictures for FB too, lol) to try to lure him down with treats. Well, he eventually came down, had a treat, and went straight back up.

As much as I am growing to love him, I really don't like that he bites when he is unhappy or wants something and I don't jump. I much prefer my obedient dogs who aim to please ME, not the other way around;)
