my cat keeps dragging small stuffed animals around the house

My cat bear is 2 and fixed, his lover is dd Captain Feathersword's Sword from the Wiggles. It is a long stuffed multicoloured sword. How the heck can he think that is another cat. :confused3

:rotfl: These are funny. My cats used to carry beanie babies and "sock-babies" around, but not lately. The funniest thing was with my cat Kitty, who has since passed away. When she would go into heat, (we got her fixed later) she thought I was her kitten. A few times she would actually gently grab my hand and attempt to lead me away. I went along with it once and ended up sitting in my closet with her, after her "dragging" me all the way across the house. :rotfl:

My female fixed cat (also old, 13 years) has done this with increasing frequency the past few years. She carries around a dismembered Barbie doll head (just the head!) by the hair and does that screaming, mournful cry while she does. I find that thing all over the house!

She's sort of neurotic anyway, and I think she does it for attention. There is sort of a "sadistic but cute" thing about carrying around the dismembered head, though! :rotfl:

Ya'll just don't know how happy I am to hear of others going through this. I have been threatening to call Dr. Doolittle. Paging Dr. Doolittle!! Urgent call...line one Dr. Doolittle.:lmao:

Oh, I forgot about the "nursing" of blankets! Chenille, fleece, my body (ouch!) ... drives this girl totally insane! She becomes so "focused" it is impossible to distract her from the "nursing!" :lmao:

My little black queenie Tippy-tail has a facination for books, bras, knickers, vests and socks. Came home one day to find over a dozen pairs of knickers lining the stairs.

:rotfl:

Hey, our neutered male nurses his chenille blanket - but y'all don't want to know what a cotton thermal weave blanket does to him! :lmao:

OMG, so does one of ours. Sometimes he's purring so loud I can hear him from the next room. I'm not sure why he's so happy but whatever, I'm not supposed to understand, I mean it's a cat afterall. Love em to bits, weird comfort habits and all.

We have three cats. Only one of them does the suckling and fetching trick. She LOVES chenille blankets. I don't have stuffed animals for her to "kill" so instead she yelps and delivers milk tabs to me. It's hilarious to see her bounding up the stairs with one.

She's been fixed for 10 years but she and our boy cat still like "love" with one another. She makes the weirdest noise and then hisses at him when they're done.

You know, it's funny that you all have posted your kitty stories here, because last night I found my 10 year old female (spayed) carrying around one of my little pom-pom socks in her mouth. She has never done this before, but she was really attached to it for awhile, and she was very gentle with it, like it was a kitten or something. It was very cute!!:cutie:

Now I know why I'm a dog person.;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: Ok, tell us what your dog does.

I think I am more of a dog person myself. I had one growing up. DH had a cat. We lived in an apartment when we got our cat (13 years ago.) Getting a dog wasn't a option.

For me no more pets (besides the goldfish.) Too much work. It is hard enough taking care of the kids. Maybe when the kids grow up and I need something to cuddle I will get a small dog.

My cat also does this. I read somewhere they are bringing you presents. Cats are natural hunters. They see that you arent bringing in dead birds or mice so they have to do the job for you. Inside cats do this by bringing their toys to you. When my cat brings me stuffed mice while crying I know she is showing her love for me.

When my cat was a kitten, he used to carry around a fake Beanie baby bear by its butt (that's a scary amount of alliteration there). Now he has a real BB that's a grey tabby (just like he is) that he sleeps with and sometimes uses as a pillow, but he always leaves it in the same place.

The little catnip-stuffed mice are by far his favorite. As soon as he gets a new one, he rips off the tail and then the ears, and if the eyes are embroidered on or whatever, he'll tear at and unravel those, too. My house is covered with these little gnarly-lookin' football-shaped blobs, but he loves 'em.

That reminds me of this thread from a while back that had me crying, I was laughing so hard. :rotfl:

Hey, that thread helped me feel as if I wasn't alone! :rotfl:

Seriously, I had a bazillion neutered pets that didn't exhibit that behavior until I encountered "Rocko...our neutered almost sex-fiend!"

And it has to be MY leg encased by a cotton weave blanket...chenille/thermal/DH's leg doesn't do it! :snooty:

My kitten leaves her toys out around the house. She only brings them out when we're asleep or not home, though. We just come home to an octopus on the stairs, a mouse in the hallway, etc.

We had a neutered orange tabby who nursed on anything and everything soft and/or fuzzy (at least, we THINK that's all he was doing with them! ). Growing up, I always had to put my stuffed animals away when I left for school or I'd come home to find them with their fur sticking out in little peaks and horns all over their bodies, the poor things.

Unfortunately Houdini is bringing us the 1/2 live version of your TY adventures :scared1: So far the past couple months he has made it past DH with a 1/2 dead bird and a mouse and we have had about 10 trophy dead mice left on the doorstep! Thank god I was at work for the bird incident!!! But it did get DH to take out the trash early :rotfl2:

I guess DH shouldn't have yelled at the cat when we suspected we had a mouse IN the house! He told the cat he better shape up and do his job or he was out :sad2: He showed DH who's the protector :scared:

Oh good grief, I now have to clean the toothpaste spray off my monitor.

Our cat that does it is also a neutered orange boy. DH's reaction is so funny though- "STOP MOLESTING THE BLANKETS!"
