My cat ate a crayon!

My husband was convinced the cat was going to die on the spot, and blaming me because they were my glow sticks. I picked up the package, looked at it, and said, "But it says non-toxic!" Then I called the vet and he confirmed that indeed - Glow Sticks are non-toxic. Phew!

I swear, our animals are out to give us all gray hair!

Just FYI on glow sticks- You should be careful because theres a chemical in them that can cause blistering. A freinds child bit through one at a party and this is what poisen controll told us (she panicked)

Oh... you got me interested!

I found a good site here (plus a whole lot of rather dodgy, alarmist sites):

http://safety.lovetoknow.com/Glow_Bracelet_Toxic_Liquid_Danger

It says that glow sticks contain dibutyl phthalate which "is not a poison; it is an irritant." It can cause stinging and redness if splashed on skin. As for cats...

What The Animal Poison Control Center Says

Animal Poison Control reports that glow products are a low toxicity issue. Glow products may cause intense taste sensations in animals along with stomach upset, but no serious problems occur unless a very large amount is ingested.

Poor kitty!
