My brain is stuck - Help with EPCOT dining

I'm usually a very decisive person. Really, I am.

I find myself constantly going back and forth on our dinner at EPCOT. I think I need some help.

We're going in January. 4 adults, 2 9-year olds, and 2 12-year-olds (all boys). My only requirement is that we eat at a place that we haven't eaten at before. That only rules out San Angel (which we were not impressed with last time) and Les Chefs de France (again, not impressed :)

The other thing that keeps me from being decisive is that two nights before our EPCOT day, we're going to eat/drink our way through the World Showcase. I feel like, we'll (for example) probably eat fish n' chips at the CS place in UK so I don't really want to book Rose n' Crown two nights later.

I'm leaning toward Le Cellier as the obvious choice, but for some reason, I'm not feeling it. I could be totally off base on this one, but it just doesn't seem like the kind of place that they 4 boys would be into. And we're from Texas. Good steak comes pretty easily here. Although I, personally would love me some Cheese Soup. Yum.

Help me, PLEASE. I'm so sure about everything else on my itinerary that this one hole is making me CRAZY!

Oh! and we're on the dining plan but would prefer to use 1 credit only.

Please and thank you!

We love Le Cellier, but we also love Rose and Crown! Teppan Edo in Japan is awesome too - and extremely fun for the kids!!

Japan TE , Italy & Coral Reef. All are good in my opinion. Japan can be fun to if u get a good Chef. My boys love it. It's a must do for us.

Teppan Edo is definitely a good choice for kids. My favorite restaurant in WDW is Le Cellier, so I'm a bit biased, but I would still suggest going, or at least not ruling it out completely. The atmosphere's very cool (I've always looked at it like a castle) and the food's really good. For kids though, Teppan Edo is a really good suggestion. Both are great, so good luck!!!

:)

I've dined at a numer of them myself...

I like Le Cellier, and honestly am planning a return next trip. I was blah about it for a long time too. I think that's part of why were going there, I've only been there a few times before.

Marrakesh was kind of fun, and somewhat different. I thought the Belly dnacer would be out of character for WDW, but it wasn't. Belly dancing is hard work - talk about excercising your core muscles! The music was enjoyable too!

I ate at Teppan Edo before the remodel. Eh. I've got good Japanese steakhouses in my area, and better sushi. If you don't this is one to consider.

If nothing in WS excites you - then it's very easy to get over to any of the resorts in that area: BWK/BC/YC. The Swan and Dolphin aren't part of DDP, but everything else is. Spoodles would probably be a great choice!

My opinion is kind of biased, but Le Cellier is probably the best non-signature restaurant on the DDP in WDW. The steak is really good, and that's just the start of it. If you look around the DIS boards, you'll see a bunch of comments on how great the breadsticks were, and I personally agree. The apps are great as well, and the creme brulee is outstanding. I still think that you shouldn't be thrown by the fact that you went to Les Chefs de France and weren't impressed. It was probably that (no offense intended) you just didn't order the best things on the menu. Try again, and order something different. I reccomend the seafood dishes, and the creme brulee. Then again, my opinion is again biased becausen I'm basically a creme brulee addict. If you like bread, go to Le Cellier. Otherwise, go to Le Cellier. (Again, bias. I'm canadian, and it perfectly displayes the cuisine of Canada). I loved it when I was 11, I loved it when I was 12, and I will love it now, when I'm older.

Maybe I missed this in a prior post, but I would recommend Biergarten. I think the kids would love the atmosphere and getting to pick out their own food. :cool1:

Thanks All!

I'll probably go with Le Cellier as a first choice and the Biergarten as a second choice.

Teppan Edo sounds cool but we have a Benihana-type place less than a mile from our house and we all go there frequently. DS9 can recite the "show" by heart and is sure to tell the chef if he unfortunately leaves out something like the steaming volcano or the shrimp flip :rotfl2:

Biergarten does sound fun but it sounds loud and DH usually not so much on the German food. :( I however LOVE IT.

I wouldn't rule out Coral Reef either. My DD12 LOVES it. And we really enjoyed the food here. The lobster bisque was wonderful and the chocolate wave.. yummmmm

The Beirgarten would be a good choice since they have entertainement, the atmosphere is awesome and so is the food. Plenty of choices and great pretzels!

We like LeCellier but it seemed more adults. Atleast when we went, it was quiet and romantic.

My first choice would be LeCellier or Tepan in Japan.

Next I would probably say Coral Reef.

Biergarten was great... my son got to go dance around, we got to have a bier!!

Enjoy your visit.

Our fav is Tutta Italia - it is 1 TS and the food is unbelievable IMO of course...

Biergarten would be my choice. It isn't just sausages and saurkraut...

Le Cellier!

My boys are 17, 15 and 12 and everytime we decide to go to WDW they ask me to make sure I get that reservation first! We all really enjoy it from the Pretzel Bread, to the Cheese Soup to your choice of Filet (or whatever ;) ) and then my youngest loves the s'mores dessert! I think they will be very happy.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention ---- not one of us liked Restaurant Marrakesh! The service was rude and rushed, like a fast food joint, and the restaurant was very loud and if you weren't in the right spot, forget even seeing the belly-dancer. If we didn't feel so rushed, the food probably would have tasted better (we love this kind of food, so it wasn't like it was new to my kids and they just didn't like it).
