My cockatiel died last night.
It came on suddenly... she was huddled in the bottom of her cage, non responsive. We called a vet and he said bluntly that if she was in that state, there was probably nothing he could do, and it would be best to cover her cage with a blanket and keep her peaceful and warm.
She was a sweet bird.

Sorry about the loss of your bird.
She was almost 23 years old! He knew I would want to see her and say goodbye so he put her in a zip lock bag in the freezer in the basement.
We couldn't figure out why they let the bird out of the cage and onto the floor. Anyway, it's sad and I'm sorry for your loss.
