Maybe it's that I'm sick, and the kids have been sick all week, or maybe it's because I'm stressed over the pile of work I had to do for finals, but I'm all weepy about my poor Jackie Bird. I don't know how I'll tell my dd3 that Jack is dead. I noticed he hadn't chirped in a couple hours, and he makes a lot of noise, so I called to him... usually he jumps up on the side of the cage so I can see him, and chirps back at me... nothing. So I took the cage down, and found him on the bottom.
We got him over a year ago when someone abandoned him at my dh's work. His mate died early on, and then Jack was much happier (Jill was very mean to him)... recently he had become real loving, and even sat on my dh's finger. Man, I need a tissue.
Anyone have an idea of how to tell my dd? She didn't understand when Jill died, but now I think she'll get it more so I need to tell her something.

I am a bird Mom myself (3 cockatiels & 9 budgies) and I know how much you can love the little fuzzies! I woke up not too long ago and I can hear my guys in the other room trying to get my attention to feed them.
