Hi all! :wizard:

I had previously hopped on here and posted a few times (and read some threads) a few weeks ago, gearing up for my first Disney World trip! It is over now, and I wanted to share the news. (hopefully this is the right spot!)

Here's how it all went down:
I spent a good chunk of time before the trip on various websites looking at Halloween costumes. The costumes were actually for my girlfriend for our trip down to Disney World. It was my first time there, and after 5 years together, our first major trip anywhere together on vacation with just the two of us.
While down there, as I guess you all know, Disney has kick started the Halloween season by doing this "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" at the Magic Kingdom some nights. The park stays open very late, is decorated for Halloween, has a special parade and fireworks, and trick-or-treating for everyone.
I spent some time on here looking into MNSSHP, and I got us tickets for this.

The day after we got there, I had us take a break from our fun at the park to go back to the resort to relax for a little while. Back there, while she was away for a moment, I got out all the 'secret stuff' I had packed. When she returned, everything was laid out for her choosing.

I ended up getting two different princess costumes, deciding I'd let her pick based on her preference (or of course, if something didn't fit, there was a backup plan!)
I also came prepared with several kinds of accessories, and even safety pins, some fabric, and velcro in case some on-the-fly adjustments were needed.

I explained that normally Disney World does not allow 'dressing up' since they don't want children to be confused on who is a real character. The Halloween Party is one of the only exceptions! She was very surprised, and we both got in costume and enjoyed the night at the Magic Kingdom!

This wasn't all without a grand finale though. Having fun at Halloween wasn't the only part of the surprise. Later that night after the parade and fireworks, in front of a lit up castle, which just so happened to be exactly 5 years after we first saw each other, I asked her to marry me. Now she is a real Disney Princess, attire and all! I also had one of the photopass people there take some photos, saying that we were celebrating 5 years and I had something special to give her.

Worked out great! Hope you like the story!

Sooo...I'm guessing she said "Yes"???

Congrats.....great story & proposal. :goodvibes

Congrats to you and your princess! Post some of those Photopass pics when you can!

Congratulations--on your engagement and on having such a memorable proposal! I want to commend you for the thought and effort that you put into it. Sounds like she got a good one when she found you. :)

Ok guys, I know I'm slow. But as promised, here are some photos!

This is when everything went down... the PhotoPass person is taking some shots.
(Sorry, no on the knee shots... don't know why.. maybe they didn't want to move the tripod?)

(Oddly enough, when punching in our photopass cards, we noticed some pictures were out of sequence ... what's that all about? Are some missing? Anyone know?)

Anyways, here ya go!

that's so sweet, thanks for sharing our pictures. You guys are too cute. Love the ring too!

What a great story. I got chills just reading that (I recently got engaged too). Thanks for sharing the pictures too. You did good.

Congratulations what a wonderful story...so is there a disney fairytale wedding in your future???

No Disney wedding planned... going to be a little more traditional about that I think. (And would have a really tough time getting people to show up down there!)

However, a Disney Honeymoon is looking like a real possibility.

I've heard they do special photos for weddings there (like before the park opens and stuff).. I wonder if there are any honeymoon packages? I think it would be awesome to be able to get pictures in the castle and stuff...

Wow, Congratulations! You did a great job with all the planning and preparation! You even have good taste in costumes and jewelry!
So do you have a brother? :rotfl:
